I've tried his exact recipe on two separate occasions. It's 100% the absolute best beef stew I've ever put in my mouth. I almost want to stick my entire head in the pot and eat it from the bottom up. Believe him. It's truly amazing.
  • @cstephen98
One suggestion, start by browning the meat (in batches) and reserve afterwards. This will create a fond on the bottom of the pot. When you add the veggies and liquid it'll deglaze and give you lots of flavour to your final dish before adding the meat back in and continuing with the recipe.
  • For a bit of texture, I’d add a cup of frozen green peas at the same time you add the au jus. They will quickly thaw, and give you a nice pop when you eat them. Adds a nice color to the dish, too.
  • Now that is what I call a stew. Been waiting all my life to find a recipe for a good stew. Now that I found it, that is all I am going to make for the rest of my life. Thanks man, you are gifted with all your recipes. Every single one that I have tried, turned out perfectly. Keep up the good work and God bless you.
  • Oh, stop! You’re killing me when it comes to the tasting part!!! It’s one of the main reasons I keep coming back. Plus everything really does taste as good as you make it look. Love this channel. ❤️ Thanks Jeff. Keep it coming!

Another home run recipe. I made this for my boys last night, and it was amazing. The house smells like a wintry November in the midwest. I always give you credit for any compliments I receive. As a single dad of a teen & tween, thank you for showing me how to feed a family even on a tight budget.

Jeffrey: Upfront I have to confess that I have probably made a dozen or more of your recipes. Most are very, very good. With this one however, you knocked it out of the park. Without question the best thing I have ever made. And like most stews, soups and casseroles, it only gets better with age as it works it’s magic in the refrigerator. As good as it is straight out of the pot, after a week it is at an entirely different level. A M A Z I N G!
  • I just finished making a batch and we're going to have it tomorrow night. Because my Starfrit pot has a non stick surface, I seared the meat in a stainless steel skillet. After transferring the meat to the liner I sauteed the onions, celery and garlic in the skillet. Then I added the tomato paste and wine and broth with rosemary and thyme and the pan deglazed beautifully. Thank you Jeff for your entertaining and helpful videos!
  • @irishpixierose
Add tomato paste to pot before adding liquids and cook a little. It brings out the flavor of the tomato paste and enhances your sauce. Same when making pasta sauce. Leave one end, after opening, on the tomato paste can. Use it to push paste out cleanly.

Hi Jeffrey! Gawd! I can't tell you how many times I have recommended you in our group "Instant Pot for Beginners!" Your books, your videos, and your pages, and most of all, Your Fabulous recipes!!! You basically helped me become a rising star in our group because I just think your the "Bomb" and can't stop praising your wonderful demeanor, sense of humor, and your so easy to follow steps and tips! I look forward to seeing you every day in a new or old IP recipe video because you are just such a great teacher and person. My first time using my IP I followed along with you to make "Carnitas" including the Corona! It turned out so wonderful, juicy, and flavorful! I also just about fell off my chair when you showed me how to use the IP AF Lid to Crisp the meat!!! I had just purchased the Lid after watching a Ton of reviews! Thank You! Haven't stopped using it since! Then I made your Grandma's Cabbage rolls! Also to Die for! I love you and hope you keep on writing your books and doing your demos with your IP. You are an Inspiration and a breath of fresh air! Huge Hugs!

Hi Jeffrey, I made this Stew last night & my husband said it was the best I've ever made!! It was absolutely delicious!!!! Love watching your detailed videos even though I have both of your cook books :)
  • @DoubleOhEA
Hey Jeffrey, just received your book from the States (I live in the Netherlands) and I am super impressed on the variety of recipes and well thought-out cooking procedures. Can't say I own a cookbook that can compare to yours. Thanks for time and effort you put into this book. I'm sure the cost of the book and the shipping/handling will pay for itself in no time.
  • Bought one for my family and another for my parents as Christmas gifts. This stew was my first time using it. Followed to a tee with great success ! Wife and daughter loved it as did I. Took a batch over to my parents for their dinner tonight, then spent an hour with mom reviewing how to operate it, then giving her a YouTube demonstration/tour of the Pressure Luck page. Watched more than 20 videos here prior to cooking anything which helped a lot. Looking forward to the rest of the Ohio winter full of good eating. You're the best my man, thanks Jeff !!!
  • I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video. I was in the mood for beef stew and looked up your video again to refresh my memory. I am making this today.
  • @KitKat-wt6ed
I made this for dinner tonight. I didn't have fresh mushrooms, but I had a small can of mushrooms in butter sauce that I added instead. In Australia, we do not have "au jus" so I hit google and found it to be the equivalent of our "roast meat gravy" so I added a pkt of that. Served it with italian crusty bread. It was sooo good & full of flavour. My dad isn't a huge fan of beef stew but even he liked it. Everyone else loved it and the whole pot was gone after everyone came back 2 hrs later and had more. I am definitely keeping this recipe. Thank you so much.
  • @ianrimerman2982
Congrats on 4 years. I think have been following you since the beginning. I really love your recipes and book. This one looks incredibly delicious as well. Food for days. Thank you Jeff
  • @spcdwayne1

I absolutely LOVE you!!! I have found many recipes of people what they add. And yours is just my type. No one else adds as many seasonings as you do!!! Thank you!! And your hilarious which I love as well.

So, lately I've been hearing a buzz about this Jeff Eisner and his incredible IP recipes (only 4 years behind, here). Love that you're just a regular guy, and the fact that you've got what I've always called, a "chocolate milk" voice. So smooth & deep & rich - kinda like your beef stew. Great to listen to. Can't wait to try this recipe and others. Thanks!
  • @Barchenhund
Never knew what a Bay Leaf was until your chicken and dumplings and beef stew recipes. I make both recipes a couple of days apart and freeze in two inch Tupperware containers for lunch or dinner later in the week. Thank!
