Class is an art. Europeans are good at it. Overweight is the enemy to defeat.
  • After watching this video I glad to know I'm doing things correctly for my age. I'm 71. I aim for dapper in my appearance yet sensible. It's ridiculous for a man my age to ware business suites when it's obvious I'm no longer part of the business world. Therefore Blazers and Sport Coats are what's right for me at my age. Also trilby, flat caps, and fedoras, are right for me but no to all ball caps. Nice loafers or boat shoes but never sandals, tennis shoes, or flip flops. Pocket squares are a nice accessory even without a tie. A pipe can also finish a presentation even if you don't smoke it, and I don't. I know I'm dressing right because people compliment me, even strangers come up to me and give their approval. I think this video gives excellent guidance for men over 50.

It is VERY difficult to accept the fact that although my sense of style is youthful, my body is not. I try to workout and eat healthy (as much as I can) because in order to wear the clothing I like you must be willing to push yourself to be at least somewhat lean and fit.😎

... I'm 56 and proud of it! I wear Moncler, Belstaff, Canada Goose and Stone Island etc. My footwear consists of Adidas Gazelles, Adidas Gazelles and more Adidas Gazelles. However atm I'm currently wearing the Cloud 5's from ON. Happy New Year to you all x

How about wearing what you want to wear? Whatever floats your boat, style is how you feel not some cookie cutter style of dress.

Great video but I walk a lot in the city and hence I need soft shoes. Having dress shoes all the time will just destroy my feet and body in the long term. Thats the way it is. I am not going to sacrifice long term injury when I am older to play the part for fashions sake.

Yes, absolutely rightly said. Precise and to the point.
  • The best accessory for anyone is a nice physique. Having said that dress best for the body that you have. A proper fit can help with any flaws. Loved the video. ❤

Some men can get away with wearing certain clothes that are youthful. As long as a person is comfortable in what they wear that's their business in what they choose to wear.

I disagree with statement that you shouldn’t wear bright colors after the age of 50. I love bright colors, especially in sweaters and constantly get compliments. I also wear sneakers but leather ones, which look more like shoes. In my opinion what ages any man is facial hair- I can’t stand beards or moustaches! Clean shaven is always the best. I am slender and tall, so I feel lucky that I can still wear same size clothes that I wore 30 years ago. Genetics, I guess…

Sneakers or training shoes here in gb are just the lazy choice, people wear them with anything ,I hate seeing branded trainers on older men,,it’s just they are so used to wearing them,.,fine for the gym or out walking but please don’t wear them on a night out if you are older than 30.

Great leather dress shoes and dress shirts. The problem with buying dress shirts now is they are making them in mostly trim and skinny sizes which are not masculine. In my neck size most new dress shirts don’t fit anymore. I pulled out some that are 20 years old and with my neck size fit nice with plenty of room. With all that said, sometimes it is great to find older dress shirts 2nd hand that were never worn to fit our age.

    I'm 55 I still wear vans,ripped jeans,& concert tees.....so what!!
  • @resomony
I'd say this advise applies to any age.
  • @Anatolia07
Men with white hair should not wear a beard, it makes them look very old!! Both the head and the face are white, so at 40 you'll look like you're 70! - You should avoid a beard, especially if you want to appear fresh and youthful. Or at least just wear a very short one, a stubble. But if you want to look old, that's of course up to you

Personally I find key brands matter most in the sector. Ralph Lauren is the Holy Saviour of the truly stylish & gracious middle - aged man ! ... No doubt! His unannointed villian is perhaps a pastel clad Tommy Bahama ( although some of their plain linen shirts are quite decent enough ! ) Tommy (our anti hero) lurks perhaps stategically by the pool in flashy 80s mirror sunglasses in navy plastic Hilfiger flip flops listening to Bon Jovi on a tiny walkman & intermittingly exclaims to nobody ; Jump ! R . Lauren finally decamps to a moored private masted white ketch in very cool leather sandals all Hand - Made in Italy [ where else ? ] and in perfect French remarks that he thinks the scene is" well you rather too de rigeur. ....for moi " 😂 To quote McQueen modern fashion is horrible ; yet a strange necessity!

Can I wear white sneakers or rubber shoes with a formal outfit? I am not comfortable with leather shoes...as if, I will not sacrifice my feet for my outfit...
