In the fifth episode of Car Trek series 6, AutoTempest challenges the guys to buy off-road trucks as their last set of vehicles for their Ultimate $30,000 dream garage. And before someone asks, no - no one got a 2022 Ford Bronco. Tyler goes old school and brings a Jeep Wrangler with a weather Jurassic Park livery, Freddy brings a bone-stock Mitsubishi Montero Limited, complete with highway tires, and Ed's Porsche Cayenne has both the looks and mods to make it a serious off-roader. The full sized montero is so underrated. Great offroad, luxurious, quality materials, and they can do 200k+

I have a 2003 Montero with 300k miles and that thing refuses to die. Such an underrated machine.

My wife and I went to Costa Rica a few years back and there were Gen 3 Pajeros everywhere. I came back home and immediately picked up one for 4k. It's been going for 5 years at 220k with no major issues. Poor man's Landy?

Friendly reminder that Colorado summers at altitude are really just winters with a bit more daylight. I've watched 4th of July fireworks in the snow before.

I love Ed calling Tyler's math "Ed math" because that is beyond accurate with how Ed usually calculates things on CarTrek

I laughed so hard at Ed's "Ed math" on Hoovie's vehicles. 10K on the Trans Am, 22K on the Tesla, 5K on fixing it, 6,500 on the Jeep (granted, it was free after his show's season ended), and 50k for the van and trailer.

Kudos to Freddy for embracing the Mitsubishi. I've never seen anybody in US say ANYTHING about Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero/Shogun before. But I'm my country, that's a beast. And your description "A car for someone who wanted a landcruiser but don't have landcruiser money" is spot on..
