At the Great American Beard and Moustache Championship, several competitors vie for the best facial hair. Beginning May 17, men (and women!) from across the globe will gather in Belgium to put their facial hair art to the test at this Super Bowl of sideburns. E:60 shows you what it takes to, ahem, make the cut.

as a facial hair admirer seeing this really is exciting, it really does wonders what a beard can do for ones appearence, it can really bring out true beauty in a man. More companies need to support men being able to have facial hair.

One point missed in this short - besides doing this for fun and glory, we also do this to raise money for charity. Each year the various beard clubs raise thousands of dollars for great causes from the competitions. Winners of these competitions usually take home nothing more than a trophy, bragging rights and fun memories.

“If you have a big beard and you meet another big bearded man, you’re going to become buddies”. Couldn’t be more true. As a fellow big beard, I always find myself admiring other big beards when I spot them in the wild, and catch others admiring mine. It’s like being a member of a club.
