Fast on the field, intelligent, articulate, well spoken, charismatic, the man’s got it all.

I was right down on the goal line when Priest scored number 27. In my memory, he hesitates just a fraction of a second to take it all in and then struts in for the record. Wore his jersey for Red Friday today. 31 was so great his QB wanted to throw blocks for him!
  • Legend. I have lived in detroit my entire life cursed with the lions. I have been a chiefs fan since 2001. This guy made the game so amazing.
  • I still have his jersey in my closet, hasn't fit me in YEARS! KC remembers you Priest.
  • This was an amazing interview. I get a real kick out of hearing players stories about their career and after their playing career. This interview has captured the part of Priest Holmes that that alotnis didn't get to know about. Thanks for this interview.

2nd jersey I ever bought, #31. I loved watching him run behind Tony Richardson. The two were so in sync, Priest would put his hand on Tony's back, and when Tony made that key block, Priest was off to the races. Before Pat Mahomes, that was the best time to be a Chiefs fan.

I just saw this interview with Priest Holmes and enjoyed it immensely. I agree with many of the comments here that he belongs in the NFL HOF. I attended the 1991 Texas High School Football Semi-final Playoff Game between Odessa Permian HS, Texas (Friday Night Lights) and John Marshall HS San Antonio. Anthony (Priest) Holmes was the star running back for Marshall HS. Although Permian won the game I came away thinking I had just witnessed the next Tony Dorsett. Without a doubt he was clearly the best, most talented kid on the field. Since I m a huge Texas Longhorn fan I was really happy he committed to play football at the University of Texas, but he didn't really play a lot because of injuries. When he was drafted as a free agent by the Baltimore Ravens in 1997 he began to show what a gifted and talented running back and receiver he was. He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, and now we know the rest of the story.
  • He was sensational. An electric back who shined on the biggest stage.
  • @Iconhulk
Chiefs and Vermeil era deserved a Super Bowl Championship 2 of them..
  • I remember how good he was.. When Merriman knocked him out in 2005 .. I felt for him ..
