  • Brock was actually 4th string and beat out the 3rd stringer Nate Sudfeld, who was on a $2mil fully guaranteed contract

Between 2015-2016, the 49ers' fanbase paid an anti-Jed York banner to fly over Levi's stadium. Shortly after that, Jed hired John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan to run the football operations. Say what you want about Jed, but he listens to the fans and we can see he has matured.

Being a SF fan having been thru the harbaugh era and now hearing someone say "never seen this owner" is hilarious 😂

You shouldn't know what the owner looks like. The best thing Jef ever did for the bay is get out of the way. The faithful remembers when he first got the job, he was trying to be Jerry Jones
  • After watching Jed's interview, I have a totally different view of him. He seems like a much wiser, more grounded person than back when Harbaugh was pushed out. Props to him for the success of the organization after accepting some hard truths about the way things were going.

I think this explains why Shanahan was so chill after loosing Jimmy G in the Dolphin’s game of the last season, while fans got freaked out thinking the season was over

Dump York was a very real thing being said amongst the Faithful during the lean years. Jed has done a fantastic job with the team.
  • They might be referencing the 0-10 start that prompted the trade for Jimmy G. The 49ers won 6 straight and finished 6-10. They locked up Jimmy to a 5 year $137 million contract.

Jed has become a great owner. Rarely seen or heard except at appropriate times. Hire good people and let them do their jobs! PS: He learned the hard way.
  • I think the DeBartalo family owned the 49ers but Eddie DeBartalo ran it during they hey day. Their family were developers and would open casinos and such and he got caught up "greasing the wheels" of some politician to speed up the permitting for a Riverboat Casino in like Missouri or something. NFL made him get out so his Sister, Jed York's mother, took over.

Eddie Debartolo got caught doing some sports betting back in the day and gave ownership to his sister

Additionally Pat FYI. Jed is flying the WHOLE STAFF all the way to Janitorials to Las Vegas for the Superbowl. He Character crap load of jets to fly them.

Jed York was the BEST thing that happened to the 9ers. We were screaming for the Yorks to sell the team and after they gave him the reigns: 1. New stadium* (even if it is in Santa Clara) 2. Hired Coach Harbaugh, with Kaepernick taking over from Alex Smith 3. Hired Shanahan/Lynch, and gave them the tools to shine. Jed doesn’t get enough credit because he sits back out of the limelight with the team’s success, but I remember when his parents were running (ruining) the team and putting Jed in front was the smartest football decision the Yorks made.
  • @JoseOlalde
Jed York use to not always be like that….He was the one who press the self destruct button to give Jim Harbaugh his walking papers. Then the whole team either requested a trade, retired early, etc
  • @kyleharlan8422
He wasn't always this way, we had some tough years back in the harbaugh era
  • @TheBigBigSean
As a long time Niner fan, York is my age, he grew up with Eddie D and all those Super Bowl rings. He always wanted to just win the SB. So he got a lot of a flack early in his tenure as owner. From the Alex Smith over Rodgers, the Singletary hiring, to the Harbaugh tenure, he was always in the mix. But he eventually learned to trust his GM and head coach to take the reigns. He's now looked at as one of the best owners in the league by his fan base, we just need to seal the deal with one more win.

49ers fans definitely know who Jed is. He's grown a lot from the Harbaugh fiasco. Many of us were not happy with him, but he definitely grew from that experience and has been awesome when it comes to laying out money with signing bonuses and doing whatever he can to help John and Kyle construct this team.

What's really funny is that I have always been an Iowa Hawkeyes fan. I obviously knew Brock Purdy played for Iowa State because they play each other every year. I saw Brock Purdy in the pocket in the preseason games and I said to literally all my Iowa friends that he's playing in the NFL like a starting QB. You can always tell how they use their feet in the pocket. Truly a hardworking individual Brock is.

Not too long ago we were all calling for York to sell the team because of his handling of Harbaugh. Now he’s grown and lets the guys he put in place do their thing and we respect the hell outta him
