Electric Fire Trucks and MICRO Grid Stations

Published 2024-01-27
Welcome back, heroes! In this week's episode, we dive into the heart of the FEIRO Station Design Symposium of 2023, held in the vibrant city of Greenville, SC. The event showcased a remarkable glimpse into the future of fire stations and their design, leaving attendees buzzing with excitement.

From innovative micro grids integrated into stations to a comprehensive discussion on how stations can align with NFPA standards, the symposium covered it all. Notably, FEIRO brought in a leading North American manufacturer of electric fire trucks, offering attendees an exclusive look inside these groundbreaking vehicles.

  • @wizardgmb
How many attendees & how many exhibitors were at the symposium?
  • I like the Rosenbauer engine better though I like this one if I were new to firefighting (I don't do firefighting but if I did).
  • I have a suggestion Can you do a Maryland Firehouse in Montgomery county or Prince George's county
  • @user-ui9il9xq1d
New York City Fire Department they're already got a new fire trucks this year
  • @athompso99
Having a combustion engine driving a generator that charges the batteries which power the drive motors... Is literally the definition of a "series hybrid" vehicle. Rev? Vector? is presumably saying it's pure electric for either marketing or regulatory reasons, which... whatever, but they're way out of step with the official definition IMHO. (Having the diesel generator is a very good idea, I'm just complaining about the language they use here.)
  • @user-ui9il9xq1d
Firefighters in New York they already using drones and laptops, and they do their job from there that's how they communicate with each other
  • @user-ui9il9xq1d
I think they should come up with a full electric ambulance as well
  • @user-ui9il9xq1d
Los Angeles Fire Department they already using electric fire trucks they also change the fire helmet they using New York style fire helmet
  • First of all, I am not a firefighter. EV's are imperfect, all you have to do is look at their lack of practicalities. Scaling them up to truck size just magnifies their shortcomings. The battery's weight and cold weather performance are some of the biggest drawbacks. CNG fueled rigs are an unnecessary risk. I remember reading about a tesla car fire in California (thermal runaway) where the engine poured water on the fire for 3 hours. Finally, they used cement to extinguish the flames (I don't know if they tried an EV fire blanket). I've read EV batteries can reignite for up to 30 days or so. So, when the scientists and engineers correct all these EV faults, then and only then they should be considered. I think we should leave the political correctness and virtue signaling to the politicians. Political correctness has no place where first responders are risking their lives to save lives and property.

I think that's a good idea fire trucks because they will save the environment for firefighters. They don't have to be wasting gas refilling the tank. Full electric trucks are way better. I like that good idea
  • @user-ui9il9xq1d
fire department are changing new technology now these days
  • My comment got removed because it was true. After I supported this channel for awhile, thatโ€™s what I get. Simply noticing a โ€œsubscriberโ€ canโ€™t spell and doesnโ€™t know any grammar, apparently offended a certain โ€œsomebody.โ€ Unreal. I bet this comment will be deleted as well. You watch.
