Colossal Caverns and its cult following is sorta proof that Pikmin 2 caves are actually very cool and fun when you aint got a brittany in your ear saying they suck. Real talk though, this mod is a masterpiece.

Colossal Caverns is so good, that it actually makes me angry that Nintendo never made a Pikmin roguelike. The pieces were all right there in Pikmin 2

Thank you so much for making this, it was a great watch! Colossal Caverns is something that I can still be proud of to this day, even if just for the concept alone. It really does feel like the perfect compliment to what Pikmin 2 established. Some day I definitely want to go back and clean up a lot of its flaws, but just knowing its so loved, even with all the wacky Pikmin 2 jank intact, it really makes my day.

I played this a few months ago and it’s such a unique take on Pikmin 2. It takes the best parts of Pikmin 2 while being so unique. I remember when I played it, I accidentally walked into the final boss and it took over an hour of on and off fighting while always seeing it in the distance and the final boss theme playing on and off.

I love how Colossal Caverns doesn’t need to change much to be successful. The gameplay loop is already established and highlights the strength of the Pikmin 2 caves, combat, and treasure collecting. All the extra options and goodies to play around with just make it that much more special. Awesome video Heff!:_bulbert:

YES! Loved this video as this is also my absolute Fav Pikmin Hack. You did an excellent job of telling what makes it so special. I Hope to see more people playing it and hopefully eventually that sweet CC Update!

I wish this were playable in the actual games. The caves in Pikmin 2, for me, are mostly hindered by the need to reset the whole game, rather than just the floor. The caves themselves are interesting to play as a sub-area. (I don’t have the equipment to play the mod, but I enjoy watching Heff’s runs!)

I had chuggaconroy when I was 6, now I have Heff when I’m 24. I listen to your videos while studying for nursing school. Makes everything tolerable

I love how the Antennae Beetles are just a cheap gimmick in Pikmin 2 but in Collosal Caverns they’re a significant target.
