Wow, do not do the toothpaste on the phone screen thing. Tooth paste can help make a cd/dvd work when it is badly scratched because it is a micro abrasive, it sands down the outer layer to get to the unscratched lower layer. Cell phones have an oleophobic coating on them, this will take that right off and potentially make the screen more cloudy from micro abrasions.

Do NOT USE TIN FOIL!!! If you use plain tin foil, it is going to SCRATCH YOUR SCREEN. If you do, at least put a soft fabric or something over it so it does NOT SCRATCH.
