I love Siobhan in character, but her greatest moment is translating one of Brennans Latin clues on the spot and making him go “WTF Siobhan!”
  • You helped me realize that I do sometimes look over Siobhan as a player, because her characters feel SO integral she almost feels like a co-dm as a storyteller.
  • She's also so good at one-liners. I think of "Jet, we can't worry about getting in trouble, there's war going on" and "Only if she can get here, and I have her goddamn shoes" daily.

a detail i really love that’s very small is that Adaine didn’t fail her entrance exam to Hudoll because she wasn’t smart enough, we all know she’s insanely intelligent, it was because her anxiety got to her and she had a panic attack and couldn’t finish the test. the panic attack thing is something i really love because it’s not a mechanic in game, she and brennan homebrewed something that would objectively make the game harder for her because it benefitted the story she wanted to tell and Adaine’s story of mental illness is one of my favourite things about fantasy high

I love how physical Siobhan gets while roleplaying. Her body language and facial expressions and voice really manage to sell the emotions she's trying to convey. It would be fine if she didnt do this, arguably not everyone in the group does to this degree, but she manages to elevate any scene she's involved in that much more.

I love a bit of Siobhan appreciation. She gets overlooked often. Including by me. I didn't connect to Adaine (exploring why she reminded me of someone I used to know who forward projected that anxiety and became mean often). But by Misty I got it. She is a wonderful screenwriter and I think that feeds into her ability to scope Brennan's world for opportunity. She is often the hero of another story and prodigal child in one. I adored Rosamund and Riva
  • Riva from Starstruck Odyssey is one of my favorite actual play characters. "Please hold!" has me cackling like a jackal every time. It can be hard to play a naive character without making them stupid or obnoxious. Siobhan plays Riva as sweet and understanding and as someone who isn't phased by the cruelty of a galaxy in chaos.

I love how Siobhan often plays characters who are immigrants within their world/context (drawing on her own experience as an immigrant, I assume). As you say, she makes choices which both fit perfectly into the world and help to expand it. Adaine being from Fallinel enriches our experience of Elmville. Misty being from Faeirie enriches our experience of NYC. Iga being from Poland enriches our experience of NYC.

It’s also interesting to note that she also pitched a different character for Unsleeping City. She also pitched a Rogue that lived in the sewers. But she chose the Broadway Star archetype because Kugrash already fulfilled that part of the world and she purposefully wanted to explore a different part of the world. Unsleeping City chapter 1 would have been immensely different if we didn’t have Misty and we might have missed some really cool perspective on the setting.

Adaine's scene with Jawbone and Misty's with the American Dream are my favorites of the season so thank you for the Siobhan love!

Adaine is one of my favourite fictional characters of all time. Siobhan often falls into a leadership role but in a very subtle way. The rest of the table will almost always listen to what she has to say and follow suit. She’s incredibly intelligent and so goddamn funny and roleplays excellently. Adaine’s relationship with Aelwyn is one of the best pieces of roleplaying i’ve ever seen. And she does this all without hogging any spotlight (not that I think any of the d20 players do) but she does have a great amount of restraint. Her characters have so much heart and just based on the characters she likes to play you can feel how kind funny and smart she is. I don’t necessarily think she’s overlooked I think everyone gets a lot of love but she’s not talked about that much and I’m glad that’s changing

Just stumbled into your video and cannot pass up the chance to sing praises for Siobhan as a player. She may not have Ally's iconic nat 20s or Emily's combat prowess, but she's the brains of the group. How she always stumps Brennan and the rest of the table with how knowledgeable she is of the setting, without it being meta game-y is a delight to watch.

I love siobhan as a player shes so smart with it but supports everyone at the table. Her characters have flaws but are realistic. And she will instantly back up a bit no hesatation. Her outfits are also amazing
  • @AmourEtRespect
On a more direct playing perspective, Siobhan really is the one that cements the whole party together by always putting herself in the middle ground. Even when the story focuses on her character she always leaves room for other players to interact, and never completely disappears when not in the spotlight. It helps compressing the highs and lows of other more intense or chaotic players toward a more stable center, which is perfect for a show like D20.

Siobhan is my favourite D20 player, so I’m always sad that it feels like she’s the least appreciated of the main cast. Great video 😊

Siobhan is definitely the most underrated member of D20, so thank you very much for your video. She also is genuinely an excellent mechanical player. Her move with Riva in StarStruck Odyssey when she teleported into an enemy ship and one shot basically the entire crew?? When she Scried Kalina in Fantasy High season 2 using the divination Nat 1. Basically her entire gameplay as Misty Moore in USC. (And I am surely forgetting a ton of other moments). And of course finally she's IMO the one with the best roleplay capabilities. She feels very connected to her character and does not hesitate to make decisions that on a meta level as a player she full well knows aren't optimal, but are what the character would do (Like with Iga in USC when she was very reluctant to join or help the group because of her fear of magic). Anyway Siobahn rules, she might not be the most abrasive, chaotic or loud but she definitely is a crucial part of the cast, and her absence is very noticeable when she's missing.

It’s very telling how good Siobhan is at putting her characters in the world, when on multiple seasons there is a fight almost solely based around her character. Aelwyn at The House Party, Her Opening Night on Broadway, Majority of the Falinel arc. Honourable Mention to the Neverafter Princesses. She’s rarely the main character but she always gets her main character moment which I just love.
  • Rosumand as a princess whose perspective has changed and Riva being the alien psychic who is naïve truly cement this notion as well.
  • @JLMac322
Minor point, but I LOVE the voice that Siobhan puts on for Misty!
  • As a DM myself who just started watching D20 (Finished first Season of Fantasy High and am currently on Unsleeping City), Siobhan has been my favorite so far, and I wasn't sure exactly why. You've put it in words for me.
