The Tembo Tusk Skottle vs iKamper Disco; a true David vs Goliath comparison. In actuality, we compare both of these overland cooking systems head-to-head and determine if the iKamper Disco is worth the addition $100 in price. The views at Kavanaugh Ridge provided an incredible backdrop for this video; we hope you find it helpful!

** Correction to video: the Disco has Meehanite cast iron, not Teflon. **

Big error I made in the review: the Disco is a Meehanite Cast Iron (not Teflon as I stated)!

Good job on the comparison and review. I might add one thing that may be important to some viewers. The TemboTusk is designed, manufactered and assembled in America. It is an American made product. Thank you.

I have a skottle and love it and wouldn’t switch based on one thing - no teflon coating. Although there is an ease of cleaning, it is a toxic chemical. About 10 years ago I got rid of all chemical coated cooking pots and pans, opting for cast iron and stainless. The skottle fits my lifestyle and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Absolutely.

Great video Kevin! What a great comparison between two great products! And an EPIC location to boot!
  • I got a I kamper Discomfor my husband for the Christmas gift. I am a Korean and very impressed with the quality of it and I think we're going to use it many more years to come.😊

Thanks for a great review. I have the Disco and it is the go to cooking appliance for most our outdoor cooks. The Disco has an ignition button.

Nicely done! Great editing, and whoever the camera guy was, he was on point!! 😂👊🏼 Looking forward to the full trip videos coming! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Damn you guys really made tacos with uncooked tortillas. Y’all are wild.

I have both and ikamper wins hands down. It’s more modular (diff ways to use it like over a fire hanging, the stove can be used as stand alone to cook on a frying pan etc, and then regular way to use it) more features (skottle handles, better cutting board)and better quality materials (non stick skottle can be cleaned with just soap and water, the whole set up feels premium)… tembo is not bad but after using the ikamper one I never went back..
  • Sold my Tembo then got the Ikamper from the kickstarter campaign. Best decision ever.
  • Yeah heard of salt and pepper. Maybe a little garlic. Btw cooked tortillas are delicious. Cool background

I prefer how the tembo tusk is attached to the legs. I don’t like how the ikamper disc moves around. Just my 2 cents. Great video.

Great non bias product comparison. Now I want some tacos lol

I went with the Tembo! Dont think you could go wrong with either one!

Thank you. Disco is the obvious choice here.
