You know there was a Whale in South East Florida on December 19th and it was very rare and usually seen in the Pacific Coast. Just thought that was weird . Strange patterns

That was norm, 15-20 yrs. ago. That pier use to be one of the longest piers on the California Coast. Waves breaking over the pier. People dont remember.

I've been there when waves were above the pier .. Sadly we had major beach corrosion too..

I live in Ventura not far from the beach & didn’t even know it was that bad I saw a weather alert for coastal flooding but this is on the extreme side we normally don’t see surf that high but pier damage & flooding around the Seaward area has happened many times before.

There were three foot waves inside Ventura Harbor this morning. Wild.

When we were kids we snuck out on the pier when it was closed and all the way out at the end waves were pushing through the floorboards and we got soaked and the whole pier was shaking left and right. It was scary as hell but it was also super fun! Then we drank even more beer and did a speed run up Highway 33 to Pine Mountain. And we smoked about two joints on the way up! 😂

Seriously, this has always been, and will only get worse. When the ocean decides to eff with you, which it constantly does, it will take a ton of sand and everything from the shoreline away. It's just the way it is, and this will never stop 🤘

Oh, these waves are oh, so spectacular right now."

It’s been bigger, 1997 and 2012 it knocked over the pier. Pictures in Eric Ericsson’s restaurant.
