We sat down with Anya Taylor-Joy and Alexander Skarsgård to play a very entertaining game of Snack Wars, where we asked them to choose between UK & Swedish vegan snacks! They compare vegan Greggs sausage rolls and vegan Swedish meatballs and fruit gums to a very unique tasting Swedish snack called Djungelvrål.

The Northman is in UK cinemas from today

The Skarsgårds are blessings to Hollywood. They're all amazing.

It's really wonderful seeing someone so elegant and classy call Gregg's of all things a national treasure. Kinda sweet, honestly.
  • Love how he goes "This is how we treat ourselves" with that self- aware grin while Anya is struggling to breathe. As a Scandinavian who is addicted to salty liquorice I can confirm it is 100 % correct.

It's actually insane just how much like Stellan Alex is. The same laid back posture, chaotic calmness, unhinged humor. It's equally wholesome and scary.

Alex Skarsgård is such a good actor, that every time I see an interview of him being a sweet human being and not a sadistic weirdo I'm awfully surprised. He really is that good.

Alex Skarsgård is a national treasure! His whole family is a treasure to the world!
  • It's crazy how often Anya is portrayed as this piercing and intimidating woman, when in reality she's a bubbly loveboat. Just goes to show she's not her characters, and goddamn is she talented because I never would've guessed. Alexander has always been a dreamboat but he really can get into a role, too.

Anya: "Thank you. I'll keep the rest for my enemies." Salted licorice is Anya's newest weapon. 😁

“it tastes like you made a mistake” 😂

The brits clearly rigged this snack war. Sweden has a lot more diversity in their snacks, candies and drinks. Even I as a norwegian has to respect sweden for their variety. Its so good, a lot of norwegians travel to sweden to buy their snacks.

They should try Argentinian candy with Anja as well.

I was blessed to be an extra on The Northman and, although he had long since wrapped...Alexander kept showing up on set and behind the scenes...and he was a true gent. Great crew.

"it tastes like you made a mistake" might be the most perfect sentence I've ever heard

As swede the snacks i would choose for this is: Gifflar (a kind of cinnamon bun) Singoalla and Ballerina (cookies with filling, jelly and chocolate) Trocadero (A swedish soda) Ahlgrens bilar (candy cars) Daim (chocolate with a caramel core) Tyrkisk peppar (licorice, its finnish tho) there are alot more iconic candies but these are well known!
