In honor of the brave Ukrainians fighting for their freedom, I painted this. It isn't perfect and I painted over several parts of it so many times that its texture is scarred, but I'm still pleased with it over all.

It feels so small to paint for a country of people fleeing, fighting, and dying for their right to exist in peace as they are. But aside from donating, which I have done, it seemed better than doing nothing at all. I recorded it as a moment of silence and also to bring a drop of peace for those desperately thirsty for it now.

I poured my heart into this painting, and I truly ache for the people there whose courage in the face of evil has inspired me beyond words.

It is my prayer for them, etched in acrylic. Sunflowers frozen forever beneath a clear sky to form the flag with their petals. This is my tribute to the resistance. Glory to the heroes.
