"Calalini" is on the border of my world, and your world. Wow that honestly gave me chills.
  • She wasn’t talking to Oprah when she was saying “No!! I don’t want to talk!!” She was talking to Wednesday
  • @zeldaminx4242
I got admitted into the same hospital as her and we shared a room on the first day, she made me feel like I wasn’t alone and we became really good friends. God bless her, she’s truly a beautiful person.

Turns out her mom pushed for this diagnosis. It was later revoked and she had autism. She was removed from her moms custody and was doing better and now she’s back and her mom has her back on meds. So sad

“On the border of my world and your world” Damn she’s going through different dimensions
  • When she said she didn’t want to talk. She wasn’t talking to Oprah. She was talking to the people in her head.

As someone with schizophrenia, it can actually be really harmful to talk about your hallucinations because it may feel really real and scary and can be dangerous. Just something so if you meet someone with schizophrenia, please dont do that

The fact that once Jani was removed and taken off her medications she was no longer deemed schizophrenic and neither was Bodhi makes me so angry at the mom
  • I really don't like how Oprah handled this. She acted surprised, smirking at how the girl would barely talk to her, painting her out to be rude and disobedient when in reality the girl is having multiple hallucinations and is hearing multiple voices in her head. It's incredibly difficult for a severe schizophrenic to maintain a conversation and sit still and Oprah was just laughing at her in dismay. What did she expect? Found her behaviour to be quite disrespectful actually.

jani actually suffered from munchausen by proxy abuse. she didn’t have schizophrenia and her and her brother ended up being taken off the mother once people realised after she was trying to get her brother diagnosed with schizophrenia too. i remember watching the documentary on her years ago, so sad to be told the real reason aswell :(

I've had doubts for many years that this child was ever schizophrenic. I think it has a lot to do with her parents and their influence, especially her mother. I think in a few more years we're gonna start seeing independent interviews with Jani alone and it will start coming out how her mother induced all of this in her.

Dang this must be so hard for the family, sad and scary
  • " Its on the boarder of my world and your world"....That's badass...sounds like a great tagline for a book.....poor girl tho.

"Calalini is the border of my world and your world" and the way she explained who lives in calalini this is terrifying, it almost sounds like shes living in a world with animals that want her to hurt other and hurt her too, it gives me chills just thinking about it

I’m a schizophrenic and it’s nothing easy but I was raised to believe my illness doesn’t define me 💯

My mother is a paranoid schizophrenic. She hears voices everyday. When she goes into one of her episodes she gets really bad. She once starved herself because her voices wouldn't let her eat. She will sometimes look straight at me and my younger sister and call up awful names and then tell us she isn't talking to us but the people in front of us. She once said that me and my sister weren't her daughters. That her real daughters were in hell and we were terrorist holding her captive. The worst thing about all of this that there is not a cure or a medications to make it stop. With each episode and age it gets harder and harder to treat. When she goes into an episode there is nothing we can do. Even when she was starving herself the police said if she didn't want help they couldn't force her until she tries to hurt her self or others (she has never tried to hurt anyone But herself before ). So growing up watching your mother cry and starve herself and say that her voices wouldn't let her hug us or tell us she loved us was hard. So I feel bad the the parents have to watch their daughter deal with this and there is nothing they can do. (BTW NOT EVERYONE'S SCHIZOPHRENIA IS THIS BAD AND UNMANAGEABLE. SOME PEOPLE RUN NORMAL LIVES SO YEAH.) Just wanted to vent. Thanks for reading.

I always find it uncomfortable how the focus seems to be on how exhausting this is for the parents, and whilst that is very true, there is no mention or recognition of how even more difficult, confusing and exhausting this must be for the child
  • @JustDeJane
My heart goes out to this little girl . ❤️ Side note: Oprah was so nervous and disturbed.
  • 4:04 "we're in an interview. come back" girl please...with the way she acted, there was no way she was going to stay and sit through a lot
