Dr. Daniele Grattarola is a machine learning research scientist currently working at Isomorphic Labs, an Alphabet company and sister company of Google DeepMind. He is on a mission to revolutionise the drug discovery process through an AI-first approach.
Before joining Isomorphic Labs, Dr. Grattarola was a researcher at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). During his time there, he focused on neural fields and generative models, tackling the complex challenges of protein design. His research was a collaborative effort between the LTS2 and LPDI labs.
Dr. Grattarola completed his PhD at the Swiss AI Lab IDSIA, where he researched graph neural networks and their applications in dynamical systems and biology. He graduated with honors from Politecnico di Milano, located in his beautiful hometown, with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Grattarola has developed Spektral, a library for geometric deep learning in TensorFlow/Keras. He possesses a deep fascination with self-organizing systems and the phenomenon of emergence.
