Artist Meredith Gaston and her husband Kevin Lindemann want a modern landscape to surround their house in Victoria’s Mount Eliza. Instead they have a neglected 40-year-old garden full of weeds and disease riddled trees.Meredith has images of long areas of grasses, wild flowers and lots of gravel while Kevin prefers dramatic architectural plants and spiky succulents. The space is big enough for both, but their budget isn’t. Plus, much of the old-fashioned existing garden will have to be demolished. With the discovery they must remove many more trees than they anticipated and the bank nipping at their heels, will they find the courage to strip back, gouge out and remake their space to create a contemporary Australian garden?

  • It looks VERY Aussie bush; perfectly tuned to that particular region. NOW it can mature, be added to, colonize, self-serd. Wildlife will definitely imprint this land well.

When making stairs please include an inch a a half toe kick or overhang. Safety and appearance are improved by this customary feature! 15K doesn't sound like a lot but but it is almost 50% over budget. Everything is worth it. Now remember 70% of the overall cost of this new garden will be the maintenance. Super artistic and pro job! 😎 ❤

This project is aggressive. instant garden, instant noodles…good they hired professionals . it worked out…natural looking. its better for gardens to evolve, i wonder how long they observed the surroundings before they did the garden renovation.
  • With a budget crunch, they are going to have to plant very tiny, young plants. It will look fabulous after several season's growth.
  • This was made for TV, not YT. The music and host narration are highly annoying. I lost brain cells watching this until I stopped 10 minutes in.
