Rourke brings mesmerising and memorable performances. Deniro met his match with Mickey. He knew it too ... (the proof is in Angel heart) I'm willing to bet robert didnt even watch it upon release. Rourke is a phenom.

WHEN IT COMES TO DENIRO'S ACTING.... HE CHOSE 1 CHARACTER, THE MOBSTER, AND USED IT IN ALMOST EVERY MOVIE HE EVER DID... HOW UNDER CREATIVE CAN YOU BE??? MICKEY IS A WHOLE DIFFERENT BALL GAME.... EXTREME TALENT AND A GREAT SPIRIT... WITH GOODNESS IN HIM... HIS LIGHT SHINED THRU!!! ROBERT HAS NO LIGHT IN HIM AND IT SHOWS!!!

I can relate to Mickey Rourke. He's not a people person and would rather surround himself with animals.
  • Deniro most challenging role ever will be playing a real human being.

He's way too honest for Hollyweird and that's why he never made it.  He was sxually abused by his stepfather and there was NO WAY he was gonna blow any director (as ALL actors do, straight men too) for their roles. It's incredibly sad.

Lad you are entirely correct!!! 100%!!! The best interview I've seen in years and wow!!! Talk about hitting so many intriguing subjects in Roarks life and it could never be done without Mr. Lee's very smooth and easy style. Congratulations Mr. Lee for understanding who he was working with in the interview and being decent enough to just allow Mickey to let it all out. Bravo.
  • Robert De Niro is an excellent actor with the mind of a snail run over by a semitrailer

Longest intro on youtube..Why do we have to watch a red screen with OTB AM and Gillette for a full minute before the start(and after the 2 commercials before that).?

Google De Niro and his development on Barbuda - he's been accused of exploiting the people there and their special system of land ownership.
  • @mklenno
mickey telling it how it is

About the feud. Mickey should have gotten an Oscar for best male performance. De Niro for best supporting role (you see which side I'm standing on).
  • @Onomynn
Two large egos at the time id imagine

It is very hard for us as so called normal human beings, to begin to understand people like Mickey and De Niro, so the only way I can sum it up is that De Niro had a great career from the beginning but toward the end of his career, he has become a real creep! Having said this, Mickey has stayed a ntrue and honest actor all his career and has not changed at all and is still making honest movies in his later years without becoming a phony creep, like De Niro!
