Leopold Stokowski conducts the NY Philharmonic Orchestra in performance of Francis Poulenc’s Concert champêtre (Pastoral Concerto), FP 49, for harpsichord and orchestra. The performance was on November 20th, 1949.

Featured performer is Wanda Landowska, the Polish harpsichordist and pianist.

The performance was broadcast by CBS, and recorded locally in Minnesota off of WCCO by Reynolds Marchant. Unfortunately the recording was done a little too hot so the loudest parts are a bit distorted. Otherwise the sound is quite good.
