Beachbody coach targets women who’ve suffered miscarriages! | #AntiMLM

Published 2020-06-29
I have been on an anti-MLM kick lately, and I realized I hadn’t shared the story of the Beachbody coach who showed up in my DMs. She misunderstood an Instagram post of mine in which I discussed my grief after the death of my boyfriend Patrick. This person thought I’d had a miscarriage, and used this assumption to prey on me, making it clear that she pitches a weight loss MLM to women suffering miscarriages. Realizing this, I decided to let her know how scummy this behavior is. She wasn’t happy with me.

This story best spotlights how gross the profit motive can be. As usual, great job Becky!
  • Oh sweetheart I’m so sorry she sent you that message, I agree women who have suffered miscarriages don’t deserve that with all the grief they are going through they certainly don’t need to lose weight? They need comforting. You are right about all MLM’s love they can’t be trusted, big hug❤️

Nice commentary Rebecca. This is the first video of yours I've had the chance to watch. I'll be watching more of them, and subscribing. I'm a guy who went to a Mary Kay meeting, because my friend thought I would be a good representative to work under her. This was a regional meeting, or one of the big meetings of the year. I sat there, and recorded the audio from the whole line of speakers at that event. I just wanted some proof of what was going on. It felt like a cult meeting. Two seconds in I knew it was a pyramid scheme. If 100 people were sitting in the audience, 95 of them were women. There were a couple women who made the big money, because they were lucky or dishonest enough, to get insane amounts of people working under them. The select few, who made it to the top, come back to help scam others. They were all very sparkly, and in pink. They had on the pink jackets you only get, if you make it to the top. I just sat and watched. It was both sad and entertaining. The few women who made it to the top all gave very formulaic speeches. They hosted gamed with the women in the audience, and if one of the women won a small prize, she as a rule, would have to yell out "I love my Mary Kay", to receive the prize. Going to one of these regional meetings is amazing. The level of bs. Everyone hosting the event was in on it. It felt a bit like going to see a televangelist. I told my friend on the way home, that it was clearly a scam. Plus they give out diamonds, and fur coats if you make enough in sales per year (VERY FEW of them). Not really ethical gifts, though they said they were working on it. You buy your supply from Mary Kay, and then you are on your own to sell the supply, and mostly get other friends/family to work under you,... to also buy more supply from Mary Kay.

Making an attempt to get in "Lucy’s” mind with this one. (More difficult lately as I’m trying to kill off the 6th sense empathic abilities right now)  I wonder if (”Lucy”) really is trying to “rationalize” in her head that this is okay.  She was so defensive, and could’ve just not responded at all.  I mean, I literally hope she’s so desperate for money, that it warped into some kind of bizarre, recursive, self hypnotic reasoning, like, “yes, focusing on “losing weight” is a great way to get over death... yeah, that’s the ticket.”  Otherwise it’s 100% pure sociopathy to knowingly target incredibly wounded people for some toxic bullshit scam.  But... Also, it could be she’s a total POS, figured the DMs would get out, and it was spin doctoring. It’s difficult to tell.  That’s probably the idea.

To be fair, capitalism is a pyramid scheme. I might have said that on a previous video. mlm's just suck at hiding it as well as others have. (Looking at you walmart) To that point though, be it capitalism overall and/or the companies that operate like that, they don't care who the target. The just see vulnerable people they can take advantage of. In this case, something tragic happened, the tell them something is wrong with them, and then claim to have the answer for it. Just like western religions. Sorry you had to deal with that pain of loss, and being reminded of it. And the audacity of someone preying on people in those positions. I hope more people find your videos and take your warnings seriously.
