The unrequited love on her best friend.The mood, the framing, the way the camera switches to just them but he has no idea, and she is in her own feelings. “Oh my heart… you should have thought before falling in love.” And the way she walks away overwhelmed and unable to take it while everyone else parties on.just so beautiful. I love love loooove this about bollywood films. Bc you know he loves her as a friend, and she is important to him, but he cannot love her romantically. And he is falling in love with madhuri bc this movie about soulmates being arbitrary, not necessarily someone you know. And the idea of love as this helpless, mysterious thing is a beauty of its own. And even though she knows him so well, she can feel he is so far, and out of reach. And her feelings have a beauty of its own. Because theyare hers. That is not a fault or a payoff but this thing that is just there at some point somehow and just happens. And it is not a resentment or a tragedy but their hearts alone and how they intermingle in that vast world of so ma y colours. And love when it happens is mytserious. Aahhhhhhhhhh I am sorry it is just so ethereal. But it’s all done so so beautifully and poetically. And it means something even if not romance i loooooove these beautiful styles of writing. Like that quote “and if you’re lucky, the luckiest person in the whole world, only then the one you love loves you back” and it doesnt even feel like a rejection because her love is so her and her character is so her and i love how.
