Giannis & Dame FINALLY Figured It Out... The UNSTOPPABLE Play

The Bucks have finally figured it out. They found the winning formula, the unstoppable play, and Dame casually exposed their secret.
I cannot believe that it took this long and this type of act by Doc for Giannis and Dame to figure out that hey, nobody can stop us in the pick and roll, maybe we should play it more. The most basic play in the book.
Do you see how easy this was? You have one of the quickest guys in the league with the ball, who btw happens to fire away and hit it from everywhere on the court, and the most unstoppable force in basketball on the roll. What in the world took them so long?! Granted last night they played against the Clippers who were without Kawhi, PG and Westbrook, but this is replicable every single time against anyone.
For the better part of the season, Antetokounmpo and Lillard executed this action around 11 times per game.
Imagine that, you have an unstoppable play, a cheat code, and you run it on 10 out of 100 possessions per game.
That’s like having Shaq in the paint during his prime when he was unguardable and you let him touch the ball just 10 times per game. That’s insane.
And while they ran it more last night, it’s still a long way from where it needs to be.
What I loved however was this play.
This was an inverted pick and roll with Dame catching everyone by surprise as he doesn’t curl for the handoff, but instead sets a screen for Giannis clearing the lane for the takeoff. Now that’s truly unstoppable.
However, here’s something that I didn’t like.
Too many times after the screen Dame resorts to just jacking up a three pointer. And he hit a bunch of those against the Clippers, but you can see some of these are on the run, some are heavily contested, he’s not in a great position really, but they went in, he won them the game so everything looks good on the surface.
But if you settle for these shots in the playoffs, and hope they go in against a tight defense, you’re setting yourself for a disaster.
Lillard needs to attack inside way more to put the pressure and provide not just for himself and Antetokoumpo but also open up easy shots for his teammates.
Did you see any kickouts to the role players off of this action? Of course not, and that’s a big problem.
At times it looks like things are starting to click for the Bucks, but they still have a lot to figure out.
Speaking of that, this is the guy who’s got to figure out how to get back to that championship season with Golden State when he was a really nice player because right now, what he’s doing is a circus show.
Poole has been one of the most disappointing players in the league this season, and I expose all the other ones in this group so you gotta check out this video right here. Talk to you in the next one. Peace out.

Dame throw it back is a wild Doc quote

A lot of pauses to start out lol 😂

Doc rivers is not a good coach
-
Actually I was expecting this in the beginning of the season hahahaha It took them a lot of time

Thats why Joker and Murray run that action all 4th quarters in tje playoffs. Get the two best players to play off each other all quarter and force the defense to react. EASY basketball...its not that complicated man

Now Dame have to learn to play Defense and they are set
-
@1:34 that is the most moving screen I've ever seen. Bro was pushing the defender like it's a sumo match

Ive been saying it for years. Giannis hates playing off ball. He loves going one on three. Coach Bud simply couldn't get him to do it, so other teams would build a wall. I'm betting the resistance was from Giannis, since P&R often means not getting the ball, as you are opening up several options, only one of which involves you getting the ball back to dribble or dunk. They should lean into the P&R as much as possible and get other players in on the action with cuts and whatnot. Dame is an exceptional P&R player even when he wasn't playing with HoFer talent.

Bro, you saying what I've been thinking and feeling for the entire season, as a Milwaukee native and current resident I can now watch games again that they've figured out this unstoppable offensive scheme, now they just have to add Lopez on the drag screen.

Scary part is Giannis can always create his own shot as well and even bring up the ball but the pick & roll positions almost unstoppable between Dame & Giannis
-
What kind of a screen was that? Dame grabbed him and pushed lol he never stopped moving even for a second.

Only thing I disagree with here is that those are bad shots for Dame. They are not bad shots IMO. It's almost his rhythm to shoot on the move triples, the pick just gives him more space to operate and get it off without a direct contest. In the playoffs, sure, defense will scramble more to contest it, but their action will get better to where he is looking for the PnR outlet or action when the coverage meets him for the triple.

yeah that moving screen by dame really is unstoppable thats why its not playable in the nba... thats a fkin foul

Dame and Giannis just trying to catch up what they missed with Griffin, I'm sure the other role players will follow suit

Lillard and Giannis have played more than 60 games together for the Bucks this season, but it’s clear that their partnership has taken some time to develop. As two of the league’s top players, both harbor a desire to make an impact on the court. But as they become more familiar with each other’s playing styles and tendencies, they are finding ways to complement each other and elevate their game.

Yeah yeah, no one can stop them now, will see how unstoppable they are in the playoffs. Clipps were without 3 main starters and Bucks won 124 to 117... WHAT AN AMAZING PLAY BY DAME AND GIANNIS...

You need to take those shots after the screen. First off - to Dame, these are open. Second - half of the reason why this works is it makes defences stand up, so they get more open when they drive by him pulling up a good percentage of the time.

I think they didn't run this right away because it would expose it early. Where debuting it later in season gives less time for others to find answers

Took long enough for Dame to start setting screens. He's ought to do that more often, he is going to open up so much space for his team.

I legit did not play basketball, and am not a hooper. Was dame's screen legal? He seemed to be moving a lot, but again I don't really know the rules. Hahaha.
