Pasco County banned the installation of boat lift covers in 2010, saying they wanted to protect waterfront property owners’ views and prevent navigation hazards.

Seems to me the cover extends beyond a reasonable distance over the waterway, impacting the ability to navigate.

Could You imagine building a carport with a roof that extended out over the road and blocked traffic!
  • If my neighbor can’t get his boat out - I would take it down, move it somehow, make it smaller. I definitely wouldn’t be a DHead about it!

Looks pretty tough to navigate past.

Who says crime doesn't pay... that smug guy actually told the news reporter, that he's just waiting for someone to try and stop him! That is the sad state of the corrupt world we live in today folks!

This is what happens when unlicensed contractors try to be slick with the rules, the aluminum structure is not temporary.
  • Incidentally you’re out Riggers that you use for fishing should actually be pulled in when you’re going back to port

It's not the "cover" that is the issue. It is the frame that the cover is bungeed to.

That guy that owns the boat cover company is lying through his teeth we all know how small the canals are in Florida and he is impeding navigation through these canals no doubt about it
  • 3:40, "I don't know what we should do about the ones installed ILLEGALLY." I'm thinking that guy owns one.

Meanwhile I get hounded by the city if the trash can lid blows off and what color my fence is lol. Must be nice to be rich and not have to abide by any regulations. Smh

Gotta love everyone's ability to find loopholes.

What do you want to bet the city councilors have a number of homes on those canals?
  • @jaydanmcqueen7
The problem is not those covers lol, it’s the fact that these docks and lifts take up over 1/2 the canal lol
  • @johnobiro5202
You can see what a hazard they cause to the navigation. Take them down.

take him to court. if temporary, then they need to be removed every 2 hours

The only thought that went into the boat cover installed, was to protect THEIR boat. No thought went into the neighbors use of the channel. Rewrite the law and have it state ANY COVER or STRUCTURE THAT IMPEDES SAFE NAVIGATION SHALL BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY. Self important clowns will be self important clowns.

In the one shot, there is no way to get a larger boat safely through that maze!
