Raw, 4K footage of intense Category 4 Hurricane Laura as it made landfall in Southwest Louisiana on August 27, 2020. We intercepted the eyewall from downtown Lake Charles, where we received wind gusts of at least 120 mph, perhaps stronger. Numerous buildings received significant wind damage, including a glass office building next to our parking garage, where the majority of windows shattered in the strong gusts.

  • This is my home! Or was, there's really nothing left and no media coverage so thank you for the media!! Southwest Louisiana still needs help, over 100,000 still without power, some still without water, people sleeping in tents or on the cement! So thank you for capturing it at its fullest! I've heard so many say Laura wasn't bad, or they haven't even heard of a hurricane hitting louisiana, so thank you for sharing the truth. Myself and thousands of others have lost everything to her winds.

The eye of laura didn't even calm. She was raging.
  • God bless Louisiana and all his people it's sad looking at the devastation hurricane Laura brought

4:20 The moment when all of the insane people filming this are telling you to get out of there, you know you're doing something especially dumb.

This still breaks my heart. I live in Lake Charles, well I should say lived, because of this Storm everyone I know lost everything.
  • Anybody else see that large piece of tin blow out of building then back in thru another window?
  • This is downtown Lake Charles.. the devastation is astronomical the majority of the city still have no power and most of the homes are damaged or total losses the lack of coverage my mainstream media is discouraging.

As Ron White once said while holding a glass of bourbon, "It's not THAT the wind is blowing.. it's.. WHAT the wind is blowing!"

I live in Sulphur, LA. So happy we evacuated. Good news for us...we got Electricity today!

That is some incredible footage. I have lived through numerous tropical cyclones, but the way the wind seemingly becomes alive is still absolutely terrifying.
  • I’m down here doing work on storm damage and what I have seen is nothing like I’ve ever seen
  • This is awesome footage! It's so crazy seeing the air itself just tear things apart. Props to you crazy bastards for going out there to film this stuff.

Her winds and strength remind me of hurricane charley who tore up Port Charlotte and punta Gorda in 04. I luckily survived that storm only because he was fast moving and wasn't carrying any surge. Amazing footage!!
  • Nice work! Remember when the weather Channel said it would be a cat 1 maybe 2 when it hit? Yeah never underestimate mother nature.
