Even though he lost this, machida was still one of the best ever. One of my all time favorites

I hope these type of shorts/sponsors come back, gave such a unique look to the fighters.

I miss Machida, his style was so unique. I don't know if we'll see another fighter with such a traditional style someday

Machida turned into the dragon in 4th and 5th rounds. My all time favourite fighter after DC
  • I forgot how Good Chris used to look. Really good to see him get his hand raised a couple weeks back. I fucking love MMA.

I remember seeing this fight live and seeing the evolution of Chris from his fights with Anderson to then with Machida.
  • There is a weird phenomenon in MMA where two people who are the absolute best in their divisions fight for a title, and then a new person comes in and beats them both. Some off the top of my head are: Luke Rockhold with Machida and Weidman. Conor McGregor with Mendes and Aldo. Henry Cejudo with Dillashaw and Cruz. Amanda Nunez with Rousey and Tate. Israel Adesanya with Whittaker and Romero. Alexander Volkanovski with Aldo and Holloway.

This was one of those fights that JUST when you think you know who's for sure gonna win....the momentum completely shifts. It happens over and over in this one...such a fucking brilliant fight. Hats off to both fighters. This is one of those where the fans were the ones who really won.
  • This is one of the greatest and more exciting fights I have ever seen. My respects to both fighters. Machida is not easy to fight and Weidman showed an amazing display handling him, and Machida showed his cast at the end with honor as expected for such a fighter. What an incredible match 👏🏻

The Machida name is such an honorable representation of karate do. Respect ✊

Prime Weidman was a beast, I have to admit - before he lost his chin which saved him a lot in this fight.

Prayers for a full recovery, Weidman. You're the reason I started watching the UFC.

Lot of respect between two warriors. These guys put on a show.
  • @yoitired
I remember when Machida looked like an untouchable ninja against his competition.
