Nice video..I was born here my parents moved there when the mine opened up in the 80's... moved to Michigan when it closed. Finally got to see the town in a rental car when I visited vegas this spring... had more fun doing that drive than in vegas itself if I had to do it over again I would have stayed the night there and drove back the next day

Regular stop on my annual jaunt on Hwy 95 to Vegas. Good. clean accommodations. Excellent food and truly nice people. The NYE Co Sheriff groups are truly professional too.

    What an excellent video presentation
  • I am going to move here. I fell in love with it when I met the nice townspeople and I love antique shops and bookstores, and I love the desert. I've been wanting to leave my wife for years now and I think this town is the way I will be able to escape her wrath. I can work at one of those stores. I don't care, just so I am away from her.
  • i love this town it was a great place to raise my kids and i am planning on moving back as soon as i can

Lots of good memories visiting here. Sadly the hospital has closed. Scolari’s is now Raleys. The owners of the Mizpah have done a lot for the town, currently renovating the Belvada. Tonopah needs more stores. I’m hoping to revisit the town some day.

I here they have Mountain biking there at mine park, in some Disk Golf at the Park, and the Brewery and want to check out Mitspah hotel. Nice vid thanks.

I plan to stay at the Mizpah Hotel on my next trip to Nevada. I've been to every state but Alaska, but somehow I have managed to miss Tonopah.
  • GREAT museum, the Central Nevada.   Excellent WW2 display, besides all the pioneer stuff.Albacorewing is right about where to get good food......And the nearby "ghost" towns are worth a gravel road trip to them.....2 wheel drive , no problem.Chuck Yeager trained at the Tonapah AAF base during WW2...their town airport today....and flew P-39s there.  Those fighters were shipped out and the base became a training area for crews of B-24 Liberators.Who has stayed at the renovated MIZPAH Hotel.....?? I'm thinking of staying there for a "few" nights !Last time I was in there was just before they closed it all down, and then only in the "steak" house...rooms were no longer available.
