  • Thanks for visiting The Ultimate Discovery Channel! I hope you enjoy the watch! ♥
  • I visited Pompeii in the late 70s. They have uncovered so much more, it's amazing. I had lunch with a guard, made quick friends. He unlocked many different sites, I will never forget that

why do all videos feel the need to do "back stories"? if someone doesn't know about Pompeii then go watch a video or read about it. this video is supposed to be what supposedly newly found there.... so stick to what the title of the video is... I don't need a recap of Pompeii.

I have always been fascinated by the story of Pompeii. It is a stark reminder that history is people, just like us, not some abstract thing on paper. It is also a stark reminder that life can change in an instant.
  • One thing for sure, no one can fight the earth when it decides to make its changes. No weapon is as powerful as the earth itself.

Pompei is a stark reminder that the toil of Man is fragile against the power of Nature. The powers that be ought to keep this in mind.

So, the bread oven caused a fire in the city that was totally on fire and being buried by super heated ash at the same time. But, the oven caused the fire. Right.

The chained dog abandoned by his master, was the most poignant. The animal had no choice and no chance.

I went to Pompeii in 1975. I'd love to go back and see all the differences now. A lot more has been uncovered, and I can see by this video!

What I don’t understand is, being a city under Roman rule, did Rome forget the existence of Pompeii….there are no records of it in Rome anywhere and years after the eruption when the lava cooled down, why was it never searched for and excavated ? No record of it came down from the Roman Empire….i find this very strange! They recorded everything!

Don't say "without worning". There was sings, just they didn't understand. And don't say the city was covered with (...) lava. There wasn't lava just ash and pumice

Repetition does nothing to enhance this video. Its quite a turn away from actually .🤔🤨

That poor dog......not that the bodies of people weren't tragic but....I'm a farm girl and in a fire, we free the animals FIRST then get ourselves out. It doesn't always work out well. Good doggo.

graffiti on the walls of Pompeii show us that its inhabitants all knew how to read and write
  • This will sound a bit crazy,i had a dream i was there when that volcano hit that day when it did! My dream seemed so real!! Inside of a building there was a boy about 10 years old that i was following around. I seen red velvet curtains and people were in a hurry to leave the building. I seen the stadium outside of this building. I never had a dream that felt so real like this. I am so interested in the videos of pompeii. I have never been out of the United States in my lifetime, i would love to go to pompeii just to see if something in my dream connects to me. I am 60 years old and never believed in reincarnation up until i had that dream.
  • Pyroclastic flows move much much faster than 7 km/h. They can reach 700 km/h but generally they move at about 100 km/h (60 MPH).
  • @linda8274
Pompeii did not erupt without warning, there was seismic activity, rumbling and smoke for weeks prior.

A huge display of the artefacts and people came to Melbourne art gallery, capital of Victoria in Australia on 26th June to 25th October 2009, it was the most tragic and fascinating display I have ever been witness to, heart breaking and devastating, but truly remarkable, I will never forget it ever
