Two Metropolitan Police officers were found guilty of gross misconduct on Wednesday over the stop and search of two black athletes.

Ricardo dos Santos, 28, an Olympic sprinter, and Bianca Williams, 29, a Team GB athlete, had complained to the police watchdog after alleging they were profiled during a “disturbing” stop 4 July 2020.

PC Jonathan Clapham and PC Sam Franks have now been found guilty of gross misconduct over the search, and the pair have subsequently been sacked from the force.

The only reason cops got sacked is that those guys are rich and famous. If they were your ordinary average people, police would have gone away with anything. As if getting dismissed from your job is an actual punishment in any way.

What about lesbian nana? She should be sacked too!

And what about prosecution? Why can't they be charged with the same offence as if a normal person dragged someone from their car and assaulted them?
  • I hope the sergeant who warned the Londoner for being "openly Jewish" gets sacked as well.

And now fellow corrupt officers are supporting them! All five should be sacked.

Ricardo dos Santos is a portuguese olympic athlete. This case made the news in Portugal in 2020.

They were fired for gross misconduct. The officers lied on their report. The real problem is this incident occurred in 2020. Over three years to resolve it. Have the officers been telling the truth since then?

The full footage from when the police first came across the car, until the end has been released. It shows him cutting a corner - Then speeding off - At one point the police van tracker shows it doing 41mph in a 20mph zone trying to catch up. In one stretch of road approx 240m in length, they calculated that he was doing on average 32mph in the 20mph zone. Then to top it off, when the van tried to block the car, he evades and goes the opposite direction. Only pulling over once they were outside their home. Whether the police lied or not is a different matter, but based on the full footage and the way he was driving - that alone warrants someone to be pulled over and searched

They have been found guilty of misconduct but that doesn’t mean criminal charges were brought upon them just that they were sacked. Those officers should be writing a personal apology to the couple, to the Met they have disgraced and lied on their report. I don’t know if this is real justice but if police want better standards if found guilty of misconduct is one thing and they’re sacked and it took this long is outrageous. More needs to be done and if these officers aren’t going to be criminally charged then they should at least write an apology letter to the couple not the Met the two officers need to write it. Cause their careers are over, good luck at trying to find work given the economic crisis we’re in.

They sped off from the police. Naturally that's not a sensible thing to do
