This kind of content is absolutely necessary for understanding all sides. So much respect.
  • Only Dan would edit this in a way that makes us feel like we were there too, and are friends with the drug lord. Amazing content!
  • @AndreSjoberg
this is the type of content that makes me hate that the «youtube format» favours 10-15 long video’s - I could easily have watched a 90 minute video of you and the ganglord exploring the city while discussing issues, problems and solutions in depth, or even a multipart series/show on this topic - great stuff :)

Fun fact about the Cape of Good hope, the reason it's called Cape of Good hope now is because before the Portuguese went to India by Boat going around the African continent, it was called the Cape of Torment since no other ships were able to pass there and it was rumored to have Kraken and other Sea monsters roaming around. After the Portuguese sucessfully went around it they renamed it to Cabo da Boa esperança (Cape of good hope)

That's beautiful change that man is causing, really neat to see
  • @davespecht
This is courageous story telling and I love the positivity mixed with the brutal realities of life for so many. Thank you Dan Mace!
  • Buddy of mine, worked for his father as a travel agent, 30-40 yrs ago, he had made so many trips to Jamaica, 10-15 yrs running, he made friends with the locals....they would take him on adventures no average tourist could comprehend, the deep local areas, Buddy stated "once they understood you no threat, just a good person, curious, out for fun, they treated you like family" he said the home cooking, neighborhood restaurants, back alley music was increadle

Turner deserves a lot of respect, and all the help and love he needs to make all the good things he want make, become reality. The faster. the better. Nice vid :)

This is some truly beautiful content, being born and raised in the cape flats and seeing all these things but still learning new information about my home. Thanks Dan for almost bring tears to my eyes in your creative story telling, really appreciate the creative process and without sounding to political thanks for showing the (modern) side of coloured communities good or bad that not many know of or has ever seen. Its always nice to be seen amongst all the diversity of South Africa. Thank you, much appreciated

This might just be my absolute favorite video from you. Please keep sharing the voice and perspectives of those who might not have a platform.
  • @donjoel6754
Thanks for the video and inspiration brother. I've lived and studied here in Cape Town for 4 years now and still I believe there is more for me to see, explore and create.
  • @gachapawn6663
its nice and warming to see, that the community which is seen and heard as dangerous, little by little is changing. I hope that the plans for the battlefield pushed through. 5:27 my gawsh thats a gorgeous scenery!
  • Breathtaking, this was actually an idea I gave when you did the seed webpage. Great seeing the result
  • @rob18b
Bru! I wish this was like an hour and 15 minutes longer! I’d love to see more of the history of those places and the story of your friend.
  • @lynneedwards7715
Thank you for sharing....very informative...and huge thanks to the Bra that shared with you !❤😊
  • @martinreismtl
Dan ! There is so much more depth to this piece than we see on the surface. I loved this piece. Banger ! Your camaraderie with Turner is symbiotic of sort. You are both looking out for each other. I have family that comes from SA. Very young when I got to know them. They explained of places like this. The balance of nice and not so nice must be exposed in the way you did. Micro tourism also. It's not all about flying to the next best spot. Kudos on all your work !
  • @AGirlNamedVan
Life on the cape flats you captured it well. The beauty of the cape is found even in the not so pretty places. I love this episode.
  • @mcmaschio
I clicked so fast … such an amazing idea and amazing video as always Dan … thanks for creating awesome videos … it inspires us creators 💯🔥
  • @DixiePokerAce
Your videos are excellent. I am extremely impressed. I will definitely look foward to seeing more of your work.
  • What an amazing look into a part of our city that those of us who don't live in those communities are oblivious to. Well done in being brave enough to show us this world 💞
