One thing that TOS and TNG did was allow the submission of scripts from writers outside those associated with the series. That's how we got David Gerrold, Theodore Sturgeon, Robert Bloch, and Norman Spinrad writing episodes for TOS. That's how we got Ronald D Moore for TNG. They also need to get actual Science Fiction writers to write episodes. People like John Scalzi and Robert J Sawyer are big Trek fans. Ask them to write some scripts. Also, adapt already published stories that can be reworked to fit Trek. "Arena" was based on a story by Fredric Brown and "The Slaver Weapon" for the animated series was based on an unrelated story by Larry Niven. They need fresh ideas outside of the regular writers for Discovery and Picard.
  • Cadet Uhura: What's the mission? Captain Pike: We explore. We seek out new life and new civilizations. Cadet Uhura: Cool!
  • They should bring Chris Doohan on to reprise Scotty that would be amazing

I got nothing but respect for the cast and crew of Strange New Worlds. Only two episodes in and it feels like what the original Star Trek would have felt like had it premiered today.

Anson jumped onto my top 3 Captains (and favorite Pike) in Discovery, and I absolutely can not wait for more of him and the crew. Everyone just completely nailed it on Discovery. I very much want this show to be an institution like TNG. I'm a TOS guy myself though, so getting an incredible cast into the TOS Enterprise is incredibly exciting.

I love this and im super excited. But its really funny watching the actors explain how an episodic television show works
  • @StarWarrior91
I’m so excited. Back to basics after reinventing the wheel a bit with the newer series. I hope they mean it when they say how episodic and positive the show will be

I've been a Trek fan almost all of my 55 years, from the reruns that were on 7 days a week to the Animated Series to the return of the original crew in TMP and beyond, and I am so excited for this! Cannot wait!

I don't think I've been this excited for a new Star Trek series since The Next Generation in the 80's.
  • @morganring8385
I haven't been this excited about Star Trek in probably decades. This feels like the Trek I grew up with, and I can't wait to go on this adventure!
  • @JGG1701
I really hope they're not overhyping this. Episodic series, whoever thought of that, must have watched TOS.
  • @nordattack
I love Pike's grey hair. This series looks so good!
  • @BKLYN_TZU
It's great they gave Captain Pike his own show and real storyline it's sad what happens to him when Captain Kirk finds him years later after his disappearance.
  • I hope it is good. I really want it to be. I am not a Discovery fan. I hope this is good and they go back to longer seasons (more episodes per) and many seasons.

So far, it is amazing. Every time I see one, I can't wait for the next. Anson Mount and Ethan Peck will save the Star Trek franchise. They should make 52 episodes the first season.
  • @lvbandmore
Very excited for the first time in a long while about a new Trek series.
  • @eltreum1
I like they are playing off The Cage cast. As much as I love the various series, I always wondered how the pilot crew carried on before TOS. The cast and formula look solid, I hope the writing matches the top-quality presentation. I look forward to checking this one out.

I’m looking forward to this series and I feel like a teenager again. I remember when TNG first aired including DS9 during my college years. It’s a great time to be a Star Trek fan. 😊
  • @kimhansen8568
Love that Star Trek is back! Good stories, great characters. It's going to be great fun watching this younger version of the crew grow. Hope it's cruising the Star Trek universe for years to come! (BTW, how come JJ Abrams gets all the movie theater glory? Why not take this new crew into big cinema???)
  • @CheyenneG99
I haven't been this excited for Star Trek in who knows how long and I believe it'll become one of the best Trek shows of all time. 💛💙❤
