Today, we’ll be taking a look at one of the biggest names in real-time strategy – Warcraft.
We already took a detailed look at the Warcraft franchise in our “Evolution of Warcraft” video; after realizing that Warcraft went from strategy to MMO to card game, we were left wondering whether to expect a return to the roots someday? Will we ever get to see a Warcraft 4? In case we do, we have a modest wishlist for it…

I want a WC4 so bad Battle Net was the best!
-
I played WC3 when i was 12 and THAT FEELING, when you logged in, heard the music and the sound of the chains when you clicked on the game different modes.. THAT WAS PURE SATISFACTION.. i cant describe it.. I miss that times so much! If i could decide to which year i would like to go back.. then i would say 2002! #BlizzardPleaseGiveUsWarcraft4

I'd love to see Warcraft 4 that would ignore WoW completely

Warcraft 3 map editor made that game have almost limitless potential. Take note developers...THAT is how it is done.

warcraft 3 was and still is the perfect game for me. is its PvP competitive play perfectly balanced? no, but that wasnt its strongest selling point to begin with. the story was, the gameplay was, the cutscene animation quality was, the voice acting was and i could go on and go on. i probably spent more than 1000 hours on it without ever playing more than like 2 or 3 PvP matches. why is that? because of the world editor, it is amazing. easy to pick up, hard to master, and so many things to put in your own map/campaign. downloading campaigns like The Chosen Ones will easily bring you atleast like 90+ hours of gameplay with alot of replay value... FOR FREE. fav game of all time, easily

What I want from WC4: - Increased map size - New factions and unit rosters - More unique items - More neutral heroes - Enhanced GUI - Easter eggs Please don't let me down Blizz.

Am I gonna be able to play warcraft 4 before I die?

i want warcraft 4 :(((

"We're sure Blizzard will release a worthy fourth game". I wonder what GVMERS think now with the clusterfuck that is the Warcraft 3 remaster? :P

My wishlist: 1) A more user-friendly map editor than StarCraft 2 2) A storyline that picks up where The Frozen Throne left off and corrects the storyline that WoW made weird (for example, "a group of adventurers" killed Onyxia, rather than a specific hero) That's honestly about it. I would be happy with any form of return to a warcraft strategy game. If you're interested in WarCraft 3 Easter eggs, you can check out my channel if you like.

Seeing as today's gaming "meta" tends to revolve around Hero units & powerful upgradable items (progression), Warcraft 4 should do just fine keeping many of the Warcraft 3 gameplay mechanics & traits with a few new neat additions, more interactive multiplayer & up-to-date graphics to appeal to the masses.

would have liked to see that Warcraft 4 would recreate the events of WoW as and RTS, all those events, the war against illidan, Arthas, deathwing etc. would be much more epic and bigger in a Strategy game
-
Let's pretend WoW never happened and just continue with Warcraft 4. WoW is pretending Warcraft 3 never happened anyway.
-
Never gonna happen.Blizzard is not same company it use to be...they don't know to make games anymore, proved that with D3

"You think you want Warcraft 4, but you don't".

As a long term Warcraft III fan and someone who never played WoW I would just love if they continued the story back from where The Frozen Throne left off. The story in Starcraft 2 was both great in some areas and really poor in others, so a bigger focus on that as well as more time put into writing the story with huge plot twists (that actually make sense) and epic proportions to the players actions (like Mass Effect, Dragon Age) would be amazing. I think they somehow tried to do this in Starcraft 2, but whatever you chose to do in certain scenarios the overall outcome of the game was the same. It only meant what allies you had in the end, which didn't really matter at all anyway. The tragic Arthas story was beautiful and well written, and gave the game a grey moral to his succession to the Frozen Throne. It was amazing to see the cliché of good vs. evil washed a bit away, since the beautiful Night Elves such as Maiev ultimately grew manevolent due to hatred and grudge whereas the "evil" and ugly faction of the undead with Nerzul in the lead grew to become somewhat good guys towards the corruption of the Burning Legion. Grey characters and morals like that is to me the strongest and most interesting of them all and they should continue that route. When making plot twists I would like to see Blizzard treat their fans as more intelligent and make things less obvious, such as reintroducing Duran from Starcraft as 'Narud' in Starcraft II. Even 10 year olds could figure that one out. So all in all they should hire a lot of RTS Warcraft fans and ask them a lot of questions on how to create the perfect game. And lastly give Manuel 'Grubby' Schenkhuizen (Professional Warcraft III Orc player and longtime Blizzard game celebrity) a cameo in the game. :D
