Like many Hoovie fans I saw this unfold through Hoovies eyes. He bought them kind of two for the price of one and then the prices doubled. So he had some big assets. When he was contemplating selling the first one, he was troubled by a big tax obligation. Selling off a car that had windfall profits would put an end to this financial concern. Clearly he wasn't ready to part with it and even though he was doing the smart thing by selling it, he found he just couldn't do it when it came time to go through with it. I think we can all relate to this. He felt bad. He sold the Diablo because he never drove it and never bonded with it so he cashed out on a windfall.

I’m willing to bet he’d sell if you were buying for yourself. Car salesmen have a mental block against selling to someone who’s gonna flip it.

As Hoovie notes in his recent SLS video, Tyler took out a loan using the Countach as collateral presumably providing Temerian's purchase offer as a valuation to the bank. Temerian got played like a piano accordion.
  • Damn. Never would have thought I would have bought more cars from Hoovie than John. Riptide blue escalade still in my garage.

Ed is the real winner here, he’s getting the views on views lol.
  • @BenDemytrk
I saw the title and instantly knew this would be a Temerian episode! Lol

Hoovie made hundreds and hundreds of thousands, but he also lost just that much in his recent divorce. That woman took him to the cleaners.

Friend of mine sold him his e63 wagon with the agreement that if Tyler ever sold it, my friend got first dibs on it. Tyler then listed it for sale a while later. Friend contacted him about it and he refused to sell it back to him
  • If I remember correctly, Hoovie payed 250k for both cars from a doctor

So a used car dealer is complaining that a different used car dealer made more money on a car then him? I dont understand the complaints... you made money on a car you sold very easily, this should have been a thank you hoovie video haha.

honestly I'm glad this ended up with a happy ending, yeah John Temerian didn't get the Countach (yet) But I'm glad the two became friends and still were able to make a transaction. I think one of the problems with selling a car like that, in hoovie's case 'letting go' is that he's actually one of the passionate people about the car, so often you get these rich people that just see it as a way to more or less just launder money or it 'looks good' on their picturesque mansion's driveway. As such, those kind of people really don't care and will sell just because of a good offer, but in Tylers case, and I bet that John probably understands this which is why they're friends and didn't grow a grudge: When you actually care about the cars like these two do, its harder to let go, I'm sure both of them have cars they wish they'd never sold, and in this case for Tyler, the Countach is the one where he doesn't want to make that mistake.
  • When it comes to Ed/Hoovie cars "for-sale", the sale is motivated to promote a partnering website ('Cars and Bids' or 'AutoTempest') or to generate content - most of the REAL sales happen off-website with their personal friend network. I also see that when Hoovie says he's going to sell something, half-the-time he refuses the bids he's sent, and he ends up keeping the car....
  • Seems to me like John’s still sore about not being able to make hundreds and hundreds of thousands off Tyler

Supply and demand. Zero supply, high demand. He was testing the market to see what a real offer looks like, you're wholesale, he wants retail.
  • @Lumi-OF-Model
I hope that John Temerian didn't injure his back while he was throwing Hoovie under a bus😀

Love Hoovie and Ed. John, not so much. He just comes off a lil greasy to me. Baiscally whining about Hoovies windfall at the end. Moreso now that he blasts Hoovie due to the lack of his due diligence. Typical used car salesman. Very ironic that a "Hoovie fan" buys it unadvertised.
