Samo was adopted from the Animal Haven Shelter in Soho by a loving couple four years ago. On March 6, 2016 they organized a reunion with her and her siblings. She hadn't seen them since she was adopted at 8 weeks old. The couple was able to contact half of the pack who made it to the reunion at Happy Paws in NYC, where they shared stories about similarities, likes and dislikes, their health history and their taste in food (they're all foodies). Some love sticks, some love swimming, others hate it. And they've all eaten something they shouldn't have at some point (paint, muffins, raw bacon, nuts, fortune cookies)! After seeing their emotional interaction it's easy to believe the dogs knew they were family.

They all look pretty happy. You are amazing people.
  • I bet the dogs all get together and find out who scored it big with a rich family and who's living poor, then they all agree to run away to the rich dog's house. They're not stupid.
  • The big question is, did they really have any recognition of each other as siblings? Or was it just dogs getting excited about being around other dogs as they normally do when properly exposed to animal oriented social settings?

Nice. Heart warming to see happy dogs and happy humans sharing their lives.

My heart just melted in a puddle on the floor , I'll blame it on the dogs x
  • That is so sweet......you could see that they knew one another and how happy they were! Hopefully they will have more reunions in the future.

this made me cry because this happens with kids too ... they get separated if families don't work out so happy they all gave them a reunion
  • Fantastic - you can tell they recognize each other - by the intensity of wagging and obvious joy - brought a huge smile to my face. They look like they had loads of fun!

So cute and sweet, although I suspect they were just happy to see another dog. They wouldn't remember each other for sure since they were so little and it's been so long.

A lot of Labrador in those pups, tough job keeping them rascals out of water. I'm sure they know they are all family, their personal scent is their identity, therefore they have a family scent link, just like wolves & other wild dog breeds, they know who is who. One day we will have a means of fully communicating with our canine friends, anyone that has worked or lived with dogs or Dolphins know, if only we can unlock the world they know. There is so much debate on communicating with visitors from outer space, but with the exception of a few chimpanzees taught sign language, we cannot chat with any species on our planet, yet. Swimming with dolphins is a new thing, yet we have shared our houses / caves / shelters with dogs for thousands of years before written history. I for one wish I could do more.
  • This made me so emotional it's so good to see people love their dogs and treat them like a member of the family

This is so amazing. For everyone to meet up, not just the dogs but to be able to share your doggy stories with other like minded people that adopted at the same time.
