Still the best piano cover of all time. Can’t believe this was 8 years ago. How time flies.

I'd like to put some perspective on this for those who don't play. I have been a pianist since I was seven and have played for far over a decade now. I've had countless lessons and put in countless hours into playing and I have no idea how this person has played this. To hit every note so perfectly with that speed is nothing short of sheer brilliance. This is true mastery and dedication and it is profoundly beautiful.

8 years ago finishing school when I first found this masterpiece 8 years later I’m working as grown young man and got a kid on the way and I still find this piece of art still absolutely amazing Thank you

No matter how many times I watch this, I keep getting blown away by everything in this arrangement. The technical complexity is one thing, but for me, the main selling point is the sheer musicality of this performance. Even in the most brutal passages, you can clearly hear the melody, and the accompaniment isn't just about throwing the weight of his hands around, it has accents and dynamics, which only make it more awesome. Hell, even outside of the realm of anime piano, this is one of the most inspiring arrangements I've ever had the pleasure of discovering in my entire life. This is truly something special, and I'm sure you're proud of it, even as you say you'd like to re-arrange it to make it "less frustrating" to play without losing its musical quality (and you SHOULD be proud). The original opening song had already set the bar high enough, and then this arrangement came around and kicked it up a notch. This is the best of both worlds, a near-perfect blend of nuance and dexterity, and by all means, a modern masterpiece. One of those few instances where I consider that the cover surpassed the original.

I’ve been playing the piano as self taught for almost 3 years now and it started because I was blown away by this performance. Coming back to this video is a reminder that I have such a long way to go, but even more so it’s a reminder as to why I started in the first place. To any other people out there struggling to start playing, just begin and study theory. Literally just keep playing until the day comes that you can feel the music in soul. It’s soooo worth it

I actually cannot express the happiness this piano cover brings me. I have a 4 minute long screen recording of this to watch regularly. but I like to come back to the YouTube video to see all the new comments of others who also come back to it.

You know it’s a remarkable and inimitable art when you get the same goosebumps even 8 years later.

Your arrangement is a masterpiece, it conveys the emotions so perfectly and is still so true to the original. It may have been 8 years however, it still is one of those music you come back to every few months.
