Reading Terminal Market is one of the greatest places to eat in the world.
Located in the heart of Philadelphia at 12th and Arch Streets in Center City, 100,000 Philadelphians and tourists pass through the Reading Terminal Market every week enjoying its exceptional products, history, and people.
Shopping and dining are a pleasure in this warm, inviting, and unique atmosphere.
A trip to Philadelphia would not be complete without stopping here. Today the Reading Terminal Market is one of the nation’s most successful public markets with more than 80 independent small businesses that offer an array of fresh and prepared foods, lunch counters, and places to eat and shop.
The stalls are arranged in a grid pattern with an open area in the center with tables and seating
fresh produce, meats, fish, eggs, poultry, artisan cheese, groceries, ice cream, flowers, specialty and ethnic foods, baked goods, handmade crafts, books, jewelry, and clothing.
It is once again the gastronomic bazaar that its original planners had envisioned.

  • Dennis... you just gave me the best online tour of RTM, I've ever watched. So inclusive. I am a native of Philly & grew up, going to the market, in the 40's & 50's & of course, beyond. My wife & I now live on the Central Oregon Coast for the past 20 years, but our kids & grandkids are still up in Bucks County. When we visit all of them, 1 day is devoted to the RTM for a lunch & p/u of so many goodies to take to our kids. Thank you for an inclusive/interesting travelogue of our RTM

Wow, that's a huge market!🤩 There are so many foods I want to eat here that I think I will resent my small stomach!😅

I was born in Philly and lived there for 50 years. Yes the R.T.M. is huge and interesting to walk through. It's always very crowded. And every time I went I found everything sold there to be overpriced. I always went for my meal in Chinatown, which is also interesting, just a short walk from the R.T.M. (A few blocks.) And prices in the stores and restaurants in Chinatown are much cheaper. The food there is excellent too. After eating in Chinatown, I'd usually stroll over to the R.T.M. and enjoy that experience too.
  • Tourist or locals need to stop by the Reading Terminal if you haven’t been. It’s an experience 👍🏼

I have been here. It’s so difficult to make a decision regarding what to eat cuz everything is JUST SO GOOD!! Lots of options. I’m now planning to head there in the morning and slowly keep snacking from there all through the day 😂 that’s the only way to explore this place fully!
