u can feed you just gotta click on them in your inventory, the thing that you were looking at was items to lvl up (coin shop, get there by teleporting) to buy ramen, etc

Actually its not tower defense its turn-based with built in Auto Mode (this allows your units to attack and defend without any input from player) for players who aren't fans of turn-based combat
