  • 11:43 Simple History: "Look at all these examples of badly designed guns from around the world!" Also Simple History: " ....and here is the Italian section..."
  • @YubertTubert
Just imagine. You have a gun that functions as a live grenade, so you reduce the stopping power until it’s ineffective, and then it STILL doesn’t work right, but the Italians accept it for service anyway.
  • Saw a gyro jet at auction for 500,000 reserve with 200 rounds. Sold for 1.2 million after a bidding war between two buyers. Was a cool weapon to see in person.
  • @BlooCollaGal
The Gyrojet was originally intended for use in outer space. Funnily enough, a bow and arrow would be super effective in zero-G.
  • Seeing the Mars, the Bodeo, the carcano M91 and the Chauchat in Battlefield 1 turned this video 10x more epic.
  • @Ihere123
I like that the Gyrojet pistol is the only one capable of not having any inside nor outside problems. All it has is poor accuracy results and highly-expensive bullets. It didn't get jammed, malfunction, disassembled, nor hurt the user when shooting. Besides the accuracy and bullets, it was PERFECT. I even like how you reload it in the chamber rather than having it's own magazine, just like revolvers.
  • "The worst guns in history." "The Beretta M1938 was one of the best SMGs of WW2." Something doesn't add up here.
  • @walnzell9328
"The Modelo 35 hand grenades were offensive grenades." As opposed to defensive grenades which don't explode, they play a sound byte telling the enemy to please go away.
  • I love that "Cursed guns that shouldn't have been made" has an entire section on italian guns (edit) no offense to Italians. Today they make awesome high quality guns and cars. Sic parvis magna
  • @warellis
I recall the gyrojet's issues were due to poor QC on the ammo, and a low production rate driving up costs. I imagine nowadays, gyrojet ammo could be designed better thanks to CAD and technological advances in ammo production.
  • Though not well known today, the Smith and Wesson Light Rifle deserves an honorable mention. The British neglected to mention that their military 9mm at the time was more powerful than the US 9mm cartridges available for testing. On delivery and testing in the UK the rifles promply began blowing up. Only a few remain today because the UK, (desperate as they were for weapons) threw them in the sea! It almost bankrupted S&W until they worked out a deal to provide .38 revolvers instead.
  • The Liberator was designed as a good weapon to get a better weapon with.
  • nah dude they really dissed Italy like that by putting their ww2 guns in this video 😂
  • @1973Washu
The "Special Atomic Demolition Munition" is probably the most dangerous contraption in history. It would be impossible for the operator to flee after the timer was set making using one a "one way" mission.
  • Personally I love that somebody brought down a wooly mammoth with a bow and arrow, but 3 people used a spear each to take down a gazelle
  • Any Carcano that isn't the M1891 is my favorite cause it's an amazing action and rifle in general that, as long as the actual platform isn't outdated, tended to outperform other bolt action rifles of its time
  • 2:12 This problem is called "chain fire." Cooking off is when a gun fires because the propellant gets too hot, which is more common in fully automatic guns.
  • “If a bullet to the chest won’t stop you, my words will!” Winston Churchill
