I feel like Kratos had somewhat of a soft spot for Thor, he knows what it's like to be filled with rage and bloodlusted for revenge
  • Let’s give Thor credit. He fought Jormungandr and Ragnarök simultaneously in the background, put up a great fight against Kratos, and refused to be Odin’s weapon in a last act of defiance. Bulky Badass.

I feel so bad for Thor. he is finally free of his fathers manipulation but still didn't think his own father would try to kill him so he didn't even reacted to that telegraphed attack.
  • @KaiserAfini
There was zero hesitation on Odin's part. He calculated he might need to kill Thor, checked his loyalty and delivered the killing blow when he was weakened. He pivoted to the next move instantly (grabbing Mjollnir) and then had the gall to not assume responsibility for his actions. What an absolutely horrid person, he didn't deserve the family he had.

Kratos is so wise. He probably sees himself in Thor

Been playing God Of War since 2005 an This is the first time I seen Kratos spare a God he really has come along way
  • "Don't you know....what I've done?!?!?" "YES - But what will you do now." Badass af.

It's so soul crushing that even at Thor's last moments, he still felt ashamed of himself towards his fucked up father. At 6:00, if you've noticed, Thor always looks away when berated, or when he feels shameful for himself. Another example would be when Thor, Odin and Kratos first met, and Odin said his sons were useless, he looked away. Even at the last moments of his life, his last expression was that of anguish and sadness. It's sad that he just wanted to be a good son, but he didn't have a good father to begin with.

5:05 Love how Thor nodded at Kratos showing how he finally agreed on mutual terms not to fight him for their kids
  • Thors voice actor waited his whole career for an opportunity like this and he truly went all in

"keep her name out of your damn mouth" sounds familiar 🌚

"Don't you know.......what I've done?!?!" "Yes! But what will you do now?" This is such a beautiful moment oh my god. Thor revealing to Kratos all of the shame he has pushed down over his atrocities and his belief that he can never be anything more than a monster, and Kratos reaffirming to him the lesson he himself has spent the last two games learning. Yes, nothing can erase the evil you have committed, but you do not have to be defined by it in the present. You can choose to do better, to stand for something more. Your soul isn't frozen in a perpetual state of malice and evil because of your atrocities, you can change. You deserve to change. Just because there is evil in your past doesn't mean you can't do good in the present. What a beautiful message oh my god!

The fact that Odin said to Thor “Are you broken ?” At 5:27 Really means that he only sees Thor and his subjects as toys he can use and manipulate..

Reaching out for his daughter as he faded away broke me. Legit teared up.
  • @CasualPrince8
This doesn't even feel like a video game fight. This feels like a movie battle. Every single hit is so satisfying and perfect.
  • I loooved this fight with Kratos and Thor. Shows how much Kratos has progressed in skill and mentality. Thor is truly the 1st god Kratos spared, as he wants follow the example that Atreus and Thrud set as friends. And Thor thinks for himself and decides follow his example. If this were Kratos from the last trilogy, Thor would have been dead at their first interaction and this would have been a blood bath worse than God of War 3. Amazing character progression for both Kratos and Thor as characters and parents.
  • @unclefatback
I went into this game expecting the Thor fight be insane. I thought we would shatter the world tree and fight through different times in an epic display of raw power between the two strongest god in existence. What we got was much more than that. It was a narrative masterpiece. Kratos has become so wise throughout this series. Super heart wretching to watch Thor go out the way he did at the hands of a father who only thought of him as a weapon.
  • 1:21 “You attack my daughter! You bring this to my home! To my FAMILY!“ The sheer emotion in Thor’s voice when he saids this…CHILLS!
  • that last look thor gives kratos man is heart wrenching. thor realizes all the pain and suffering in his life was from his maniac and manipulative father. kratos was able to change thor’s heart in the end for the better but things always come full circle
