So taxpayers who paid their own student loan debt should bail the current debtors out??? Many are in retirement with fixed incomes that don't allow a decent lifestyle!
  • Thank you to all the protestersOnly because of you, injustice will disappear In fact, the people of the country are already ashamed. They are demanding justice. They don't like injustice. They are protesting. It's a shame that civil servants like injustice. I'll show you how to sample. For example, Ireland Take Norway and Italy. They don't talk about human rights. They are actually doing it.
  • Nobody deserves a lifetime of debt for just trying to get an education. It's an injustice on the individual, but looking at it from a societal level, keeping people chained to debt for 40 years isn't good for the economy. We have a consumer-driven economy and Americans can't spend as much if they need to also pay $300 of loan interest each month until they reach retirement. A little bit of student debt like in the 1980s was acceptable, in my opinion. Students could work hard in the summer and during the semester and pay most of their tuition for that year. But tuition is like a down payment on a house now. Imagine needing to pay 10 car notes for a single car. You can't just tell people to work harder. There is something wrong going on there.
