I understand weight issues. At my heaviest I was 453 ponds I’m now down to 162. It was a struggle however it was worth it. I’m 60 and a solo female trucker. I cook 99% of all the food I eat out here on the road. You have done an amazing job! Keep it up!

Wow! You are such an inspiration which is what I need in my life right now. I’m extremely obese but in 2021 I lost 100 lbs due to cancer and I said I would never put it back. But here it is 2023 and it’s all back. 😞 I’ve been trying to take it off again but it’s so difficult. I’m 70 but I’m determined not to give up! Your videos give me hope.

Oh LuLu! Thank you for sharing your heart and journey! You will never know how many people you are helping with your transparent honesty. God bless you!

I clicked on your video so quickly because I saw that it was a woman of a particular age! I'm 46, and most of the weight loss video I see are by much younger women. I need to see more videos like this. I started my weight loss journey at about 203lbs, might have been more. I am currently at 173lbs and my goal is to get down to 123. My journey is extremely slow! It has taken me 2 years to get down to 173, I try not to compare my journey with that of other people, but it's hard sometimes. You have just gained a new subscriber!

In 2017 i LOST 185#, a little more than half of my weight. From the time I was born until she died, my mother was obsessed with her and my weight. After I was weaned, she started me on SKIM milk. I was a very tall child. At the end of 6th grade I was 5'10" and 154 pounds, broad soulders, size 10 feet, etc. BUT of course I was discustingly fat. In high school I grew to almost 6'1" and 170# and a doctor told me I should lose weight. I was an athelete etc.e tc. but I was disgustingly fat. This part is a lesson to parents to not put your kids on a diet or mention their weight. Any way I maintained the 2017 weight loss until the pandemic. Still I am trying again in my '70's. I wish you the best. Keep up the good effort.
  • Thank you so much for writing what food plan you used. I went to a dietician years ago asking for something like this. I wanted to know how much protein etc I should eat at each meal. She wouldn't tell me. Instead she dragged out all the food charts, I had to tell her what my food 'habits' were. She went on and on and by the end I was almost in tears. I forgot all about how weight watchers broke it down into categories. It made sense. My struggle has been similar to yours but after I had my babies the weight kept going up and reset wiped up this last 6 years due to a job loss, physical limitations increasing and depression exacerbated by the pandemic and financial struggles. I'm at the point I have no choice but to take back my life. My health is declining and I gained 12 lbs bringing me close to 370. The weight gain scared me because I had no idea I gained it because I had been around the same weight for months. Thank you for sharing and bless you.

Blessings to your sweet Spirit, I am inspired to release the burden of 45 years of carrying an extra 100 lbs of weight as I am starting my sixties ✨🙏🏽✨🦋
  • Hey, Lulu! Thank you for sharing your weight loss journey. I’ve struggled since my early teens. I thought I was ‘fat’; but looking back, I was in my perfect weight zone for my height of 5’ 8 1/2”. In 1969 I went to Mexico with the Girl Guides. I was 16, and weighed 133lbs, and I returned home weighing 131. All through high school I yo-yo’d and never went above 142—but I wasn’t eating healthy. After university I weighed 77 1/2 and went to Weight Watchers. I was on the same plan you followed—I still have my yellow coloured booklet. I lost 25 1/2 lbs and was just within my healthy weight zone. Unfortunately, I chose to stay on the plan and lose a few more lbs instead on going on maintenance. Big mistake! Long story, but ai ended up at 245 lbs in June 2020—partly due to indulging in unhealthy snacks when in isolation. I’m now down to 210ish, and am currently aiming to get to 160. I’m SO glad to have found your channel! I’m going to follow your plan—like the old WW plan—which worked for me in the 70s. I did try the points system years ago. Ridiculous system. It has nothing to do with preparing a person for life-long healthy eating regime. Thank you for sharing your journey. I’ve already watched a couple of your cooking/meal prep videos. They will be invaluable to my journey going forward! Keep chuggin’ and stay well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
  • What an inspiring story! I had a severe binge disorder and remember the total loss of control, the loop thinking that compelled me to eat without abandon day after day. I also was a smoker. And now I'm a drinker. I just have that personality. I am also on the other side of 55. 😒 I've been watching your videos the last few days. I love how you say, "Life is good." And your van life is a metaphor for being in the driver seat of your own life. Thank you for your thought-provoking chats and your joie de vivre.
  • I'm 64, retired, single and on much the same journey as you re health, food, supplements, cigs, alcohol. I often feel sad when I think why did you not do this earlier. Fact is I have time now to concentrate on ME, no kids, husband, work, myriad of social engagements, outside stressors. It certainly makes it easier.

What a woman. Magical, stand tall gal, your head is in the right place for you. Xx
  • @leahkayb66
LuLu! So happy for you! I'm on this same path. I'm 57 and finally addressing these truths. I'm 45 pounds down and going.
  • @kayecastleman6353
Such a wonderful, heartfelt story, Lulu. Thank you for sharing. So many of us have eating issues. One of the things that has worked well for me is intermittent fasting. I love good food and could eat every waking hour! Giving myself an eating "window" and continuing to eat only healthy, home cooked and whole foods is the one plan that has worked long term for me. I was never a smoker, and I may have 2-3 drinks in a week, so I'm fortunate that way. I'll be 72 next birthday, and the reasons I watch my weight now are also different from when I was 30. It's a conscious spiritual choice to care for my physical body. Each of us is worth the very best we can give ourselves! 💖
  • You were a pleasure to listen to and I find that gratefulness is a big key in my peace and joy as well. You spoke so beautifully. God Bless you more than you could ever imagine or dream.
  • @kearnskearns5692
I am sooo grateful that I fought your YouTube sight. You are an inspiration to me. I can so relate to everything you have shared. I hear a Bostonian accent which also excited me because I’m a true Bostonian too. I will continue to watch you and look forward to more videos. I truly feel I can sleep better tonight and wake with 3 different outlooks to my life tomorrow (physical, emotion and spiritual. Not to sound corny but I swear You were sent as a wellness blessing to me. Thank you!
