Dialogue with Influential Albanian Academic - Dr. Olsi

As-salamu alaykum! I am an Orthodox theologian. I am deeply grateful to you (Sheikh Imran) for building bridges between Orthodox Christians and Muslims. Thank you for reducing our prejudices against Muslims and for reducing Muslims prejudices about Orthodox Christians. I want to say that the our church teaches us that our brothers are not only Orthodox Christians but also Muslims. Even more, our faith commands us to love not only good Muslims, but also to pray for our enemies who do us harm. Today, Serbs and Albanians have a problem - wherever the occupier from the west came, he sowed blood between brothers according to the popular "divide and rule". Mr. Osli - Orthodox monks in Kosovo pray day and night not only for Serbs, but also for you Albanians. They fast daily, and constantly 24/7 they pray for everyone and for the peace and well-being of both Serbs and Albanians - that God the One enlightens the minds blinded by hatred, in everyone, that he softens their hearts. That church and those monks teach us to love all people, our hearts are not filled with hatred towards anyone, but with love. Therefore, all those who committed evil in the name of Christians - they are not Christians. We also apologize and grieve deeply for the tragedy of the people in Gaza, Srebrenica or Kosovo - no matter what religion they were!

Sheikh, after having heard your views on several matters, I developed respect for you as a scholar and a person of wisdom 😊 Even though, I follow a buddhist tradition and I have no authority to make such pronouncements - still I feel that you are a worthy teacher and guide for the young people of today. May you succeed in all worthy endeavours - as you have ever done 🙏😊

I was in Belgrade and visited St-Sava, as a catholic-born, I am looking forward to embracing the Orthodox religion. I am not proud of being born on October 11th, 1962 since it was the date of the shameful Vatican 2.
