The horses, one of which was covered in blood, caused chaos as they roamed the city centre and collided with vehicles, including a double-decker bus and taxi.
They initially became spooked by loud construction during a routine military exercise in Belgravia, the Army said.
Officers said the horses had been recovered and returned to camp.

Broke my heart to see that grey seeming so badly hurt. As a long time horse mum, it was horrible to see these beautiful souls so terrified and horrifically injured.

Horses natural instinct is flight once panicked. Hopefully they'll recover from their injuries.

My heart just shattered seeing the stream of blood down the white one in those photos, and seeing how both were clearly frightened. 😢 Must have been so scary being in the middle of a huge city like London with nothing or no one to guide you. Glad they’re ok though and getting treated!

These horses were terrified. Poor things - they need lots of recovery in a huge pasture not living on cement.

Many years ago in Coney Island a police horse was spooked by a revving motorcycle. The mounted officer warned everyone to step back and held on for dear life while maneuvering the horse over to another police horse that was calm, and his horse calmed down almost immediately.

Update. Two horses receiving intensive verinary care. One has been moved to another hospital for further treatment. Vida. White. Quaker. Black. Horses - Trojan and Tennyson also ran amok.
