I was in the middle of this, just pulled into my work parking lot. Had to wait it out and I was actually scared my car was about to fly away with me in it

I live in Houston Texas, and I’m 9 and I was just chilling in my room, and I got a notification that said “critical” so I opened it and then there was a tornado warning please take shelter. So I went into a closet and the tornado was strong. A big tree fell on my my yard.

I saw a video from another channel showing a transmission tower/power tower bent and mangled. I'm from Cedar Rapids, IA and we had a Derecho go through in August 2020. The exact type of mangled tower shown in the video from today's storms is the exact tower damaged by the derecho here. The manufacturer was contacted and those types of towers are made to withstand winds of 140mph. That is how they determined that part of the city had winds in excess of 140mph. It will take a month or two to get official numbers, but I guarantee Houston had winds in excess of 130-140+mph in small pockets of the city.

I love this woman's delivery. Clear, measured. Refreshing. And people went to a ball game. Y'all crazy. Prayers for all.
  • The storm hit my area of Houston first but nothing else happened other than losing power than people starting posting about horrible damage to their houses. RIP to the ones who died and I hope everyone else is okay

I was a motor coach in that and I had to pull off the highway and pull into a neighborhood because I thought that my entire unit was about to lift off of the ground with all of my other eight passengers
