I picked up Dead Rising, thinking I'd get a refresher while I waited for the new version with upgraded graphics and a different voice for Frank.

I forgot how terrible and complicated the gun controls were - you can't move while you aim, you have to use the right trigger to draw, a thumbstick to aim, and another button (x?) to fire.

I'll spare you the anxiety of wondering what happened - i died because i was impatient - and because there's only one save slot and no quicksave, if you die you can go all the way back to your last save....which is what happened to me.

i know they said that they'd preserve the gameplay mechanics of the original, but i really hope they do something with shooting settings. Melee is fantastic, but one you have a weapon that requires aiming, it is - for me at least - painful.

Did you ever play this? How did you feel about shooting? I love the game otherwise - i have every dead rising - but i'll stick to bashing things till the firing mechanics are improved.
