This is the easiest way to change the oil in a Jaguar XJ / X351! The oil that Jaguar recommends is Castrol EDGE SAE 5W-20 Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil with Fluid TITANIUM Technology. Here are some features of this specific oil from advanceautoparts:
* 3x stronger than Mobil 1 against viscosity breakdown (per the Kurt Orbahn test in the 5w-30 vis-grade)
* 6x stronger against wear caused by metal-to-metal contact vs industry standards . (Seq IVA vs API SN PLUS Limits)
* 10x stronger against high temperature oil thickening vs. industry standards(Seq IIIH vs API SN PLUS Limits)
* Helps improve fuel economy
* Exceeds: ACEA A3/B4. API SN/CF, BMW Longlife-01, MB-Approval 229.3, Porsche A40, VW 502 00 / 505 00

  • Are you not worried that you are potentially leaving heavy, metallic sludge behind which traditional draining might clear?
  • @yarleumas
    Change the filter element first, because I believe the oil inside drains down to the pan when you crack the element open. That way, you can drain out the oil that was in the filter too.
  • Had an electric reverso oil system on my twin caterpillar diesel boat and it worked flawlessly.. sucked almost 15 gal out and then pumped fresh oil in. Done.

    Do you know how to reset the oil change tracker? I've got a 2016 XJL, glad to see someone out here is doing vids on them!
  • My 2017 Manual calls for 0W20.. Also what size in the oil filter wrench?

    I go to the garage and have it done !! They are the experts and check the rest. Great service for my XJ (L)
  • hi, this video was very helpful but can you tell me how to get rid of the amber exclamation mark in the triangle.
  • @thomasa1davis
    Thank you for the video about the Jaguar XJL. Can you provide the links to buy the oil pump and oil filter remover?
  • @KSneed9
    I would really like to get a car like this, but with all European cars the cost of ownership is what scares me. I'm glad to actually see how simple this looked. If I can save money in any way possible I'll probably try to get it.

    Are there any other maintenance you’ve done yourself on your Jag? Trying to do as much on my own without the dealership as possible.
  • @Rickbearcat
    Would have really liked it if you had shown the oil filter removal and replacement. Can you tell me what the torque spec is for the oil drain plug?
  • Convert into new model front bumper and headlights it's looks so cool I love jaguar xjl scenes 2010 I have brought 2019 model
  • @legmaker50
    How are you resetting your service required prompt on the dash? I'm sure it requires a scan tool of some type. This prevents me from doing my own oil change on my XJL. I want it reset when I'm done.
  • @asitmp
    so you are leaving all possible mess inside , and just mixing with new oil...freaking genius !
  • @turbojay70
    Nice video but you should've shown how to take the oil filter out of the filter housing too.
  • @Daylin821
    In your video you mentioned a electronic oil pump, know where I could purchase one?
  • @codysmith4711
    When adding oil back in the car do you pour it back into the small tube ? Or just funnel it around it
  • @nickyfresh6577
    Does the oil extracted tube goes on inside the oil tube that's in the engine or does the plastic tube go on the outside of the engine tube
