I feel like something that's not talked about a lot is the wide skill range of storytelling, the fact that a story can be significantly flawed and still be loved if it does one or two aspects particularly well. I feel this is shown transparently in YouTube, where you don't need to necessarily have a good story for people to acknowledge that it is a story and enjoy it for that- often times the criticism of bad storytelling is NOT in line with it's reception. I do think that there is a lot of room to improve and I do think that MrBeast and other large creators will improve on these, after all that's what makes them some of the best creators on this platform. But for an average YouTuber, the skill floor for storytelling is low enough that if it's coherent and does one or two things well then they have no incentive to improve, because at the end of the day the average story consumer doesn't actually care and things like titling, thumbnailing, hooking, having a backlog of videos, etc are just more important to the algorithm and the viewers.
