Surface Pressure - Christian version (Encanto parody)

Published 2024-03-27
This Christian rewrite of “Surface Pressure” takes Encanto's iconic song to a whole new level - and takes us on a journey to the cross.
The song tells of a person striving for holiness under the Old Testament law. He might look good on the outside - but under the surface, he knows his efforts aren't enough. He keeps trying and trying - but under the surface, he's exhausted. "Who can take this pressure?" he sings. The answer, of course, is Jesus.
May this thought-provoking parody be a reminder of how far short we fall of God's righteous standards, and how desperately we need a Savior!

How can a parody of a Disney song of all things be so faithful to scripture and theologically rich is beyond me. Absolutely amazing video! Keep up th good work!

Bro that last part froze me😢 Christ really carried all the weight we couldn’t handle ourselves
  • "I wonder what our worth is if we cannot be perfect." That line hit hard 😢 I'm thankful that Christ doesn't expect us to be perfect, but only that we place our faith in him. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for sending your one and only son to die so that we may have a chance at Repentance and be welcomed into the Gates of Heaven. In Jesus Mighty name, I pray, Amen ✝️🙏

It was amazing. Right now, where we live, we’re feeling the pressure. A pressure of loss. Our neighbors, yesterday, had lost their 3 year old boy named Valentine. Very sweet boy. He’s now in heaven with God. Please pray for the family

That ending gave me CHILLS!!! “Who can take this pressure?” Our wonderful, loving, mighty Lord and Savior. Jesus. 🙌🏻 PRAISE GOD!!! ❤

I love the timing of dropping this right before Resurrection Sunday. ❤ ✝️

It's kind of hard been a Christian when you want to compromise for the comfort of peers, you just need to embrace a side wholly

I wouldn't call myself Christian, but I genuinely love how careful and respectful you guys are with these parodies. It is clearly seen how much you love God and your religion, the ideas that are behind it, the very concept of endless Christian love and forgiveness - and yet it doesn't fell like you're forcing it onto your viewers at all. Have been following since "We must talk about Jesus" song, love this one, can't wait to see more.

The original song really got me through times of pressure in my service to God, and I always imagined it with the same meaning presented here. seeing it actually done as a Christian song really got me to tears, thank you !

Perfect example of Religion vs Relationship! We serve a loving God!
  • This was very good timing. I've been struggling with trying to live on my own and do the right stuff but God has been showing me that I can't do anything apart from him. Being reminded I'm not alone and that only Jesus was perfect( he was also God) is helping me give it over to God. I'm discovering the true joy of trusting him to take care of Me, and knowing his plan is best. Roman's 5:8 "But Christ showed his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us."❤
  • Please don’t stop making these! I’ve been waiting for a new release and have been blessed by all your previous songs but this one came at just the perfect timing of God when I am battling against the spirit of legalism and religiosity. Thank you so much for making this. This is truly a gift from God and I feel like this message was just for me! Keep going! You’re making such a difference turning these secular songs Christian!
  • Surface Pressure is my favourite Encanto song, so I was super excited to hear that you were making a parody out of it. You didn't disappoint! This one was just as wonderful as the others. Can't wait for more! ❤❤
  • the ending scene finally answering the question of the whole song (and the whole pride of man) 🤧😭 Thank You, Jesus 🙌🏻
  • I cried when I saw this. It's so powerful. Wow. This Encanto version of this song felt like it echoed how I feel - always feeling like I need to be perfect. But this... wow. The vocals are incredible. And it perfectly shows how the Israelites might have felt... struggling with all the laws and rules. Thank you so much.
  • ooh the last line gave me chills you can hear the strain in his voice (beautiful btw) when singing some lines that just hits you in the feels. this is so cool, i love it a lot. it's such a good representation of what it sometimes feels like to be a christian, with doubts and moments of weakness. I love everything about this.

Amen, Great job! We are not saved by anything we have done, but we are saved by what Christ did. Though we didn’t deserve it, He loved us anyways.
