So no lie, this is one of the best Jake Johnson interviews.

I dropped out in Sophomore year too. I had bad ADHD and didn’t know it. Father recently passed away from Cancer. I was 16 years old. Sitting in class was pure torture, I was so bored and never wanted to be there. I had good friends but I spent a lot of time playing online games and made friends there I still talk to today almost 16 years later. Did fuck all for 5 years, got a GED so I could apply for community college. Then I got a 2 year paralegal degree and found work in government. Still there now and sometimes I hate it but it worked out. Bills don’t care about your mental health.

I get it. I took a gap year after my first year of college when it was not popular. Family thought I would never go back since I had a decent paying job. I did and graduated. I don’t think I would have graduated if I kept grinding it out. Just was not in a mental state and that year focused me. I look back and it was a great decision in my life.

Dude is lucky there's no draft. My story s the same but it was 1967. I would have quite but I stayed flunked everything till my senior year then just walked I stayed to avoid Vietnam. And it worked
  • I feel bad now- I’m one of those students who skated by on test grades and didn’t bother with homework. But then again I sunk every free moment into advancing as an artist knowing that my C-Bish grades wouldn’t help or hinder getting into an art school.

New Trier has produced an insane amount of successful actors.
  • Has anyone told Neal he has chocolate sundae on his ear?
  • Unless you dropped out in '87, dropping out of high school is UNACCEPTABLE. No, you go read the fucking book...

Or, hear me out. Let the man finish a complete thought before you ask your question.

I initially read this as “Jack Johnson” and was wondering why Neil had that silly beach guitarist on his show.
