fun fact, the sheering of claws is actualy something that happens irl, some crab species are harvested of claws then released to regrow them

The idea behind getting crab claws is that crabs shed the old big claw because it gets infected or damaged during a fight. they break it off and a new one grows back. Its probably be like an egg laying mechanic of chickens where they drop it time to time.

2:48 crabs can drop their claws when stressed so maybe sneaking up on them or having a hostile mob sound nearby could make them drop a claw

You should call the potion "Potion of evolution" because it simply evolves everything it touches into what it rightfully will become.

After seeing this, anything that Mojang does with the crab (if voted) will inevitably be a disappointment in comparison.

i just realized that according to their logic, they can't add crabs because according to mojang, if they're passive or neutral, it will encourage kids to touch them and get hurt, and if they're hostile, kids are going to actively kill crabs.

imagine if you could use the crab claw to make a grapple hook

make them spawn with different claw sizes, increasing the damage and making crabs with bigger claws discriminate crabs with smaller claws.

my guess for how you get claws without killing the crab is that the crab naturally removes its own claw and grows a new one like they occasionally do in real life

Regarding crab claws, they actually autotomize the claw if it felt threatened, or if the claw is a burden to them through either it is too damaged, or was trapped because of it.

I imagine the crab will either drop it's claw when it grows up, ala scutes with turtles, or the extra reach will be an AOE type thing, like dolphin's grace

I love how earlier today a person I know was like "they should add a potion of carcinization" and then you do in your video. Amazing coincidence, and good work on the mod, that was insanely fast!

i mean crabs sometimes shed their shells to get bigger, so maybe the player can just find discarded claws laying around crabs. maybe when you breed two crabs abd make a baby crab, the baby crab sheds its claw when it turns into an adult.
