Published 2019-12-17
In this episode, Dom D’Agostino, one of the smartest people on all things related to ketones, digs deep into the research and application of these molecules. We discuss ketone esters, diesters and monoesters, racemic ketones, medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), C8 (caprylic acid) on the exogenous ketone (EK) side of things. We also cover a lot of Dom’s fascinating work with hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Dom also discusses the strategy and tactics of the metabolic management of cancer, which includes, but is certainly not limited to, a ketogenic diet (KD). Cancer is covered throughout this episode, but if there’s one section to listen to, skip ahead to the 2-hour mark and listen to what Dom has to say about the Press-Pulse approach.

The first time it was difficult but after listening to a plethora of these talks by these guys, Rhonda Patrick, Tim Ferriss, Lew Cantley, Jed Fahey, It's starting to make sense and I started a biology course to help my future interest. Keep up this groundbreaking work and research guys as for sure between that collection of minds.......something goods gotta happen. Good Luck, Good Work & Goodnight. Thank you for your efforts.

I thank the Lord for Peter Attia and Dom D’Agostino!

Dr Attia, muchas gracias por toda la informacion y el esfuerzo dedicado a diseminar inofrmacion tan util para los que no estamos en el mundo de la medician . Muy agradecidos . GOD bless 🤗👏

Wow! Great talk. I have recently started an Atkins/keto diet after a gtt showed 2 hr glucose of 141 and 4 hr glucose of 46; in addition to hyperlipidemia that occurred since the previous normal test 1 year prior. A few weeks after starting my diet I did the cardio IQ for IR and got total insulin of <3. My fasting glucose was 82. So, now I understand from this talk that increased ketones decrease insulin and this is why the recent IR test showed low insulin weeks after starting the diet.

Excellent, comes at the right time too, I've had two diagnoses of cancer in the past two months, one dead, (4th stage pancreatic) the other live (lymphoma) will arm me well to see the oncologist. Cheers
-
Can you do an updated interview with Dom? That'd be great! 🙂
-
The push/pulse discussion was incredible. Such a good question Peter. If someone I care about comes across one of these more complex cancers I will work hard to try and reach out to one of you guys.
-
The explanation Warburg effect by Dom was the geekiest thing I ever heard in my life :)
-
1:24:13 Dom talking about his personal experience with exogenous keytones pushing down base line insulin levels.
-
Dr Attia I love your channel very informative and interesting .. please keep up the great work
-
24:15 normal, healthy neurons functioned and thrived In a low glucose environment as long as ketones were present, but the cancer cells would die
-
Amazing content! You guys hit every topic that I'm interested in. Thank you.
-
Perfect podcast duo!
-
I’d love to see an updated interview!
-
Peter, you never let him answer the question about metastatic breast cancer..............
-
Interruption after interruption after interruption
-
While fasting your glucose can go down to as low as 30 on its own with no problems.
-
Thank you for sharing gold! I got a lot to study!

The reason Dom lost weight (while diving) was indeed higher metabolic rate which was a consequence of forming brown fat - due to cold waters- which is very energy demanding and takes glucose out of the blood. Listen to Susanna Soeberg, she’s done several podcasts lately, one with Dr. Andrew Huberman. It’s interesting to hear personal experience of someone confirming her results without knowing of her research 😁

what is the best exogenous. ketone that one can buy .
